Being pampered

Their progress had been great and Jason was planning to slowly progress more and more. Last night gave them another big leap forward and today he wanted to see if maybe she would get closer to him out of her own volition. If possible he wanted to go for a real hug. One that was reciprocated. All he had to do was create an opening. He had planned to set up an indoor picnic as it was still too cold outside for sitting still on the ground. So he placed a few pillows and a comfy plaid on the floor. Took a few flowers to set on the plaid and to create the feeling of an actual picnic, he placed a few sandwiches, drinks, fruits in a picnic-basket and placed it on the plaid as well. To set the mood, he put on romantic playlist. Now all he had to do was wait for Jenny to come down.

Jenny woke up late today. She had a restless night, because she was thinking of the events of the night before. Had she really sat on his lap. That was so embarrassing. That guy kept taking thing further and further. But surprisingly she didn't really mind. Despite the awkwardness, she was quite comfortable in his half an embrace. It was exactly this that kept her awake. What did her comfort in that position mean. Why did she give in so easily. In the end she decided to brush those thoughts away. Who knows why. Maybe it is because of the game earlier that day. Maybe she had felt closer to him. Aside from the game, spending this much alone time with a person was bound to make you feel closer to one another right? She shouldn't overthink it and let thing flow where they may might. She got out of bed slowly and admired a bit of the view before jumping in the shower and getting dressed. Excited to find out what Jason had planned for this day, she ran down the stairs. Not even drying her hair properly. She knew the house would be heated properly, because Jason didn't want her to get cold. Slightly wet hair should be fine in an environment like that.

Jason however did not agree one bit. As soon as he saw Jenny walking down with her ebony brown hair, flowing down her shoulder, he ran towards her. "Why did you come down dressed so lightly and you haven't even dried your hair properly? Are you trying to get sick? Not on my watch little tigress!" He took her hand and pulled her back upstairs. During the entire walk back to the second floor, Jenny could not help but stare at their hands. They were holding hands. They were actually holding hands and it wasn't bothering her. Jason did not see her questioning look and had his eyes fixed on one thing. The towel-cabinet. As soon as they reached the top of the stairs, he took a dry towel from the cabinet and gently dried her hair. Not giving Jenny time to take it in or protest. Jenny tried to say some words about being able to do it herself, but as she saw his serious expression in the mirror, she decided to keep her words to herself.

She silently and with a blushed face let the warmth of Jason's actions come over her, while staring at Jason's expressions using the mirror's reflection. When he wasn't spouting romantic nothings to her, he sure was a handsome man. Why did a man like this like a simple girl like her. She couldn't wrap her brain around that idea. He was wealthy, handsome and clearly a lot nicer than he lets on. He should have plenty of women to chose from. Probably women who were a lot prettier, smarter and wealthier than she was. Why was he so determined to make her his. Spending so much time, money and effort into winning the heart of someone who has already rejected him. But she wasn't going to complain. She was going to treasure this second chance. By now she was certain that if she did fall for him, he would treasure her like a princess. She would surely be happy. Even her in-laws wouldn't form an obstacle, something she had somehow always feared because of her defiant nature. She closed her eyes and allowed herself to fully enjoy being pampered.

After a sweet woman from Webnovels let me know how to make a cover for my book, I started crafting away. I decided on a blue church picture. Blue because it is my favourite colour and a church because of the contrast with the word "Devil". I hope you guys like the end result as much as I did.

While doing this I noticed a grave mistake. There was an error in my title. I somehow had written Devil's match with two s'es in my title, instead of one. So i quickly corrected that as well, which unfortunately meant I had to start over with creating my front XD.

Enjoy this next chapter!
