Any wishes or requests

Jenny was becoming quite nervous, because she knew that Jason really respected his grandfather and in turn Jason was his favorite grandson. Meeting him with the odds already stacked against her made her covered all over from cold sweat. How could he spring this on her like he was talking about the weather. Did he not realize the pressure she would feel from this. His grandfather was one of the few family members on his father side that he actually cared about. What would she do if he didn't like her? Suddenly six weeks started feeling like six hours to her and she felt the walls closing in on her. Jason noticed her behaving oddly and called out to her, but she did not respond. "Jenny..Jenny" He started waving his hand in front of her face, but her mind could not process what was happening as it was too busy worrying about what she should do, what she should buy him, what kind of person he would be. It wasn't until Jason grabbed her by both her shoulders and forced her to face him that he managed to get some of her attention. He called out to her one last time, "Jenny! What's wrong?".

Jenny snapped back to reality and said with an upset expression and a tone of voice to match, "What do you mean 'What's wrong?'?! You just gave me such big news with no time to prepare." "What news do you mean?" Jenny shot him an all saying glare, telling him that he should know what news she meant. Knowing this look all too well he carefully said, "...Meeting my grandfather you mean?" To which Jenny nodded affirmatively with a 'Duh!' look on her face. "How is that 'no time to prepare'? We still have six weeks! What do you plan on doing that six weeks isn't enough time to prepare?" Jenny turned away again and with a worried expression said, "I don't even know...That is the problem. I don't know what to get your grandfather, I don't know what to wear, how to behave. I don't know anything about him other than that you respect him."

As she listed her reasons her voice started to get more frantic, when Jason grabbed her again to make her face him. "Calm down Jenny. It will be fine. If you want to know more, I will tell you all that I know. If you want to get him a good gift, I will help you find one." Jason pulled her to his chest and put his arms around her as he continued "I told you this, because I thought it would make you happy. Not so worried that you can't focus on anything else." Jenny let out a deep breath and glanced upwards to face Jason as she answered, "I'm sorry" before facing the front again and leaning into his embrace. "I lost my cool there for a moment. It's just that I really want to make a good impression on him and he doesn't really approve of me, so that makes the pressure of wanting everything else to be perfect even greater. I don't want to give him any more reasons not to like me."

"Don't worry, I am sure he will like you just like my parents did and just like I did. You don't realize the charm you posses. He won't stand a chance once he meets you and those fierce eyes of yours." Jason said with a chuckle. "And if he doesn't, then we will visit him again and again until you gain his approval. And if all of that doesn't work, then we will pass the mission on to our children." Now Jenny couldn't help but smile, "Stop joking. It's not funny." she said as she held back her laughter and imagined two cute little munchkins crawling onto their great grandfather's laps and asking him things like why he doesn't like their mommy. "Alright, all joking aside. You need to stop focusing on my grandfather's birthday for now, because we have more things than that coming up. First up is the engagement party, then my grandfather's party and after that it is your birthday! Do you have any wishes or requests?"

That is right. Time sure went by quickly. It was indeed already her eighteenth birthday that was coming up. She would legally become an adult. But more important than her birthday was Jason's birthday was coming up as well. Though it was quite far off, she still had about six months to prepare, but she didn't get him anything last year. So, she wanted to give him something special this year. Something she had made or bought herself. But what do you give someone who grew up with a silver spoon and seems to have all that he could possibly want? At least she knew Jason a lot better than his grandfather. She knew he didn't wear any accessories, but he liked watches. Maybe she could give him something that he could carry around just like his first gift had been jewelry. With that thought they started their shopping spree for their two upcoming events while secretly shopping for each other's birthdays as well.

After walking around for almost six hours, they finally managed to get their necessary shopping done. Jason had picked out a custom made bowl that was forged from stained glass made from lightning hitting the sand. No two pieces were the same and this one caught both their eyes as it resembled the sea for some reason. Deep shades of blue and green, flowing into one another and creating waves on the white table underneath when the sunlight hit the glass. After Jason gave it his Lizzy stamp of approval, they went and bought it. As it was displayed as an art piece for now, it would be sent to the Westwood mansion after the show had its last viewing, which was in two weeks. Just in time for the party. Though their main goal had been accomplished, they were no where near finding a gift for the other upcoming events. That was until they walked by a jewelry shop along the way and Jenny caught Jason glimpsing a watch through the glass window. It was only for a few seconds, but it was enough for Jenny to follow the direction he was looking at and see what had grabbed his attention. It was an anthracite, platinum watch with a deep blue hourglass matching the colour of his eyes. It was absolutely beautiful in every sense of the word and she could understand why it caught his eye. As they walked passed the store she glanced back to take note of the name of the store, so she could look the watch up after she got home and could surprise him with it at his birthday.

Here we are with the last chapter before the weekend. I hope you enjoy and a warm welcome to titania23!
