An evening stroll

Jenny and Jason spent a lovely evening together. After a successful round of shopping they had a perfect dinner with Jason's excellent picks. Up next was cuddling up to a movie as they watched it from a love seat and they ended the evening by taking an evening stroll as opposed to having the car pick them up. They wanted to enjoy one of the last few warm evenings and hold on to the sweet, warm moments of the day. As they walked hand in hand Jason told Jenny about his grandfather as he tried to ease her worries and prepared her for their big meeting. He explained how after his parents started getting busy with the family empire his grandfather's time started opening up. "He told me that he saw the cry for help in my eyes. So, he tried to fill the gap that my parents were leaving. Partially because he was feeling responsible for my loneliness and partially because he was hoping to connect with at least one of his grandchildren."

So, when his grandfather could he would come and take Jason away and take him under his wing as he taught him important life skills. Though it wasn't often, it was a ray of light that could occasionally brighten Jason's world. Though his grandfather was strict and didn't know how to show affection, as he was from a generation where men weren't so in touch with their emotions and he had gotten very little to no love from his father, Jason was able to see through that cold front and see the care that was behind the strictness. Though his cold upbringing had learned his grandfather to soften up a bit with his own children, to a stranger's eye he seemed just as cold and unfeeling. Which ended up scaring more than one of his grandchildren. Jason was one of the rare few that didn't seem to mind and drew to him. Even if it was just because he was better than the alternative, which was being alone, it made Jason stand out among his grandchildren and made him become attached to him.

Though Jason's stories about his grandfather did not help Jenny in figuring out what to get him, it did let her learn more about the type of man that he was and gave her another glimpse into Jason's childhood. She was starting to look forward to meeting his grandfather. She wondered what type of man had managed to touch Jason's once so closed off heart. Jason was telling how his great grandfather had started Westwood empire, but that his grandfather had built it to what it was today. During their talk Jenny discovered that Westwood empire was much bigger than she had originally thought. She knew that the Westwood family was well off, but never really understood how everyone seemed to fear and respect them so much. It appeared that this was because they had a hand in almost everything. From government, to education, warehouses, clothing stores, cosmetics, technology and military. No matter in what corner you worked, you were involved with the Westwood family one way or another. They never had scandals and even if they did, there wasn't a newspaper brave enough to report it.

They were so lost in their talk, that the forty minute walk passed by in the blink of an eye and they had reached the entrance to the Westwood mansion. As Jenny looked at the long path that was still ahead of them, she realized that her walk wasn't over yet. But when the finish is in sight, that is when you start to notice the exhaustion and in Jenny's case her sore feet. Jason saw the reluctance on her face and was about to offer her a piggy back ride back to the front door, when he spotted one of the ground carts from the corner of his eye. It was parked by the side of the fence and seemed to be placed there just for them, which indeed it was. Garry had instructed someone to place one there when he was informed of their wish to walk home. He imagined that they would be tired after a full day of having fun and wanted them to be spared from the walk from the entrance to the main door. Not knowing who their benefactor was, they gratefully took the cart and started making their way to the house. Now that her feet were lifted off the ground, Jenny could feel the pounding and burning sensation at the bottom of her feet.

"I did not expect so much walking for today. I put on these cute ballerinas to match my outfit, but they were certainly not a match for today's activities. They are better suited for a shorter date or a less active one. My feet are killing me." Jenny said with a bit of chuckle. "Yeah, I did not think that we would spend so much time shopping. Sorry that I didn't look at your shoes when I suggested the walking home part." Jenny shook her head. "No worries. I didn't think about it either when I agreed. A nice bath and I will be fine." Once they arrived at the house, Jason rushed to the front door and opened it before walking back to the cart.

Jenny was struggling to put her swollen feet back into the delicate shoes when Jason bent down and lifted Jenny out of the cart in a princess carry. Jenny was pleasantly surprised and quickly wrapped her arms around his neck to support herself, while holding her shoes in her hands. She enjoyed a final cold gust of wind against her warm feet while Jason carried her inside in his arms. They wasted no time to head upstairs as it was already quite late and they were looking forward to a good night's sleep. All the walking around during the day and the final walk back home had drained whatever energy they had and provided them with a good workout, making sure they would sleep like babies. So, when they had their shower and bath, they fell asleep instantly and didn't wake up until quite late the next day. Pushing their private missions to a task for the next day.

Here we are with the first chapter of the day and the second one is on its way. I hope you enjoy.
