A sweet dream

Though everyone appeared surprised to see Jason at school again, some more frightened than happy, Jason behaved as though he couldn't see any of them. Walking right passed them without sparing them a single glance. Even though he had come to school, he didn't have any intention of attending classes. As the moment he entered the school, he walked to the roof and laid down on the warm tiles before closing his eyes. Though Harry sighed and George seemed a bit disappointed, they let Jason be. They were happy that he had left the house for something other than work. It is not like he needed those classes. Since the last exams for school had passed, the classes mainly focused on preparing them for the entrance exams. Considering that Jason had already been accepted, he wouldn't need to take those exams. Therefore he had no need to prepare for them either. Plus, he was way past that level anyways. Nothing those classes could teach him that he didn't already know. They would consider him coming to school as the first step to him behaving normal. Or at the very least a much needed break. Who knows he might start attending classes if they kept this up for another few days.

Jason remained up on the roof till all the classes had finished. Though he had enjoyed the sun on his face and the chance to rest his eyes, it was still spring. So, it was still chilly when the wind came up. The fence around the roof might give some cover, but it wouldn't be able to shield him completely. This was probably the cause for what Jason experienced next. When the guys came to pick him up after classes and he went back home, he started sneezing. By the time he arrived home he wondered if he had caught a cold at the roof, because he was feeling shivers. Though he hadn't gotten sick in years as he usually took very good care of his health, these days he had been weakened by a lack of sleep. So, he had become more vulnerable for something like a common cold. He had sneezed twice on the ride back home. Even feeling a bit drowsy. Though he acknowledged to himself that he might have gotten sick and needed some rest, but instead of going up to his room to sleep, he laid down on the sofa in the living room. After spending a day up on that refreshing roof, he didn't want to go back to that suffocating room. What was the point? Even if he went up there, it wasn't like there was anyone or anything waiting for him there except depressing memories.

As he fell into a hazy restless slumber, one where he for some reason had the nightmare he had experienced multiple times since Jenny had left, he was comforted by something warm and soft. Changing his bad nightmare into a gentle dream. One where Jenny had returned and was by his side. Taking care of him and stroking his hair. Covering him with a blanket. He didn't know how, but it all seemed and felt so real. With as much strength he could bring up he opened his eyes that felt so heavy. Seeing a silhouette that matched that of Jenny. If he didn't know any better, he would think it was actually happening. He would think that Jenny was standing right in front of him, but how could that possibly be? Well, if he was going to have such a lucid dream, he should take advantage of it. With that thought he reached out his hand to touch what he considered to be a figment of his imagination. Holding the hand of the blurry figure that was by side. The hand was so soft and he held it tight as he fell back to sleep.

That night he had the best sleep he had in a long time and he woke up refreshed and slightly confused. He could have sworn he had seen Jenny. He had even felt her hand. What a good dream it was. What a realistic dream. he could still feel the sensation. But when he woke up the next morning no one was there. When he looked down he saw the blanket that was covering him. The same blanket he had seen in his dream. Making him wonder if that dream had been more than a dream. Wondering who had put that blanket on him. For a second believing that what he had dreamt might have been real, before quickly shaking that thought away. "Wake up Jason. It is fine to have a sweet dream, but this is reality. It was probably a staff member who didn't dare to wake you and covered you out of concern for you. To make sure you don't catch a cold while under their care." After giving himself a reality check he threw the blanket off and went upstairs to get changed and prepare for the meeting he had in a few hours.

The moment he got up and left the living room another door opened and a figure stepped out of one of the guestrooms on the ground floor. When Jason came back downstairs after getting changed and headed towards the dining room to have his breakfast, he caught a glimpse of a white dress out of the corner of his eye. When he looked around, he didn't see anyone. He shook his head, wondering if his cold hadn't disappeared yet. Though he felt fine, the uniforms of the staff were navy and there were no guests at the Westwood residence at the moment. So, unless he was seeing ghosts, there shouldn't be anyone wearing white, right?
