A sharp blow

When Jenny woke up the next morning, she opened the curtains with the button beside her bed. She smiled as the sun shined down on her face. Finally that horrible day had passed and she had managed to make up with Jason. While lying in bed she was wondering how Julia had fared on her side with Harry. She was so busy with her own situation last night, that she had no room on her mind for her. She didn't even see her leave. However she was certain Harry had been with Jason. There is no way he found out about what they were up to without Harry saying something to Jason and there was certainly no way that Jason would have allowed Harry to leave without fixing the mess he indirectly created. So if Harry was there, then he must have taken Julia with him. She was certain Harry cared for Julia more than he was willing to admit. If there was a situation where a guy would be forced to face his feelings due to his own jealousy, it would be when the girl was surrounded by eight handsome guys hitting on her. So Jenny imagined that Harry too was quite upset at seeing Julia in that type of situation. Hopefully they managed to figure things out, otherwise her battle with Jason would have been for nothing. Plus, Jason probably wouldn't let them off without a form of punishment, so if they still didn't get together, they would have to face that for nothing as well.

Despite everything that occurred yesterday, today was still a weekday, which meant they had to go to school. Jenny forced herself to get out of bed and got dressed. When she looked in the mirror, she saw that her eyes had gotten puffy because of the crying yesterday. Once she started speaking, she noticed her voice had become hoarse as well. She was contemplating staying home, but figured yesterday hadn't exactly earned her a day off. So she should stop wasting her time and energy entertaining those thoughts and get ready for class. She wondered whether Harry and Julia would come to school. They had more of a reason to stay home than she did. As she finished getting ready, she applied a bit of make up to try and hide the swelling around her eyes. This instantly earned her a comment from Jason. "Off to another round of finding a lover on the side?" Jenny gave him a sharp glare before replying "Why a lover on the side, if I can replace the legitimate spouse as well? He is pushing my buttons lately.". Jason chuckled as he put an arm around her neck and pulled her close, messing up her hair. He was feeling a bit sorry when he saw her eyes and heard her voice, but what he had done was necessary. Jenny was treating what she had done like some kind of joke after he had found her yesterday. Now, after his stern approach, she was aware of his boundaries. If a few tears were what it took, then so be it. He would make up for them as the days they spent together piled on.

Despite her best efforts to hide it, it didn't go unnoticed that Jenny had cried and she and Jason had probably fought. If it wasn't because of Jenny's physical state, it would be due to the stories that were going around about the group date from last night. Jenny and Julia, both already engaged women, attending a group blind date and getting caught, were the talk of the day. Including Jenny's classmates. They were all whispering and giving her looks. "Why would she go on a date, does she not realize how lucky she is" "What can you find when you have a man like Mr. Westwood by your side." "If she doesn't appreciate what she has got, I don't mind stepping in". The whispers stopped the moment Jason entered the class. He sat down after going to the bathroom and stared out of the window. He was looking down at the driveway, looking if Harry would be coming to school. Little did he know, that Harry had entered the building while he was away from his seat. While he was preoccupied, the students became cocky once more. Jason had payed no mind to the other people in class nor did he give any special attention to Jenny. Though not done on purpose, it gave the other students reason to believe that their fight was still going on. Which was enough for them to slowly start their whispers again. "Did you see that? He didn't even glance at her." "Who knows, very soon the position of Mrs. Westwood might open up again" It wasn't until Harry entered the classroom as well and shot those who dared to whisper a deadly glare of his own, that they became silent again.

Harry didn't know where to look when he saw Jenny. He felt sorry for what she had probably gone through because of his relationship with Julia. This emotion soon made place for a sense of danger he felt while taking a seat behind Jason. Harry saw that George was absent during this class. He assumed that George didn't want to sit between him and Jason, while this silent war was still going on. This was probably for the best. Harry had purposely come to school late, as to avoid a confrontation first thing in the morning, but he too knew that he would have to face the music sooner or later. That is why he didn't avoid coming to school today and didn't change his seat to one further in the back. He only hoped that Jason would allow him to maintain his dignity during class. It seemed Jason was willing to give him that as he didn't even acknowledge his presence for now. Jason did not move at all and continued staring out of the window and did so till the end of class. Nor did he look or speak to Harry when they switched classrooms between classes. As one class after another ended, the moment of their confrontation came near. Lunch had started and Harry moved towards the roof, where he figured he would have to face Jason. Sure enough, soon after lunch had started, Jason too entered the roof and slowly walked towards Harry. While Harry was saying all sorts of things in hopes of calming Jason down and avoid whatever punishment he had in mind, Jason in his turn remained silent and kept walking in his direction with a cold air surrounding him. Before Harry could fully grasp the situation he was in, he felt a sharp blow to the face. Jason had landed his fist on his face. While Harry was still in a daze a second blow landed and as he fell to the ground, he finished it with a swift kick to the abdomen. While Harry was still grunting in pain, Jason spoke "So my good friend, now that we have gotten that out of the way, how is your girl doing? Was this all worth it?"

As promised another chapter for today, which will also be the final chapter of the day. Though the next chapter is well on it's way, I still have some work to do on it. I expect it to be published tomorrow or the day after that. Look forward to it! But for now, enjoy :D
