A petty conversation

Jason explained what had happened word for word and though Jenny truly believed he was speaking the truth, the part where they didn't see eye to eye was the part of what to do about Elizabeth. Jason had been friends with her for years and wanted to believe that this was a one time occurrence caused by Elizabeth's one sided delusion, which he had allowed to remain in existence. So though he was mad at her for taking things so far, he was convinced it was done out of desperation. In his mind she was probably already regretting what she had done. Jenny however wasn't so convinced. In her opinion Elizabeth knew full well what she was doing. She was either trying to show him what he was missing or trying to break them up. Her behavior during class showed clearly that Elizabeth thought she was way better than her. Not only for Jason, but also in life. Jenny had always thought that men couldn't properly see those sides of women and wanted to believe in their innocence and good intentions. So when they left for school the next morning they hadn't fully resolved their issue, though they were at better terms than they were yesterday. During class all was going well until the short break started.

Elizabeth, who was still riding on the high of last night, went to find Jenny again. She thought that since she hadn't heard anything last night, Jason didn't mind what had happened between them. This to her solidified the idea that Jenny probably didn't mean as much to Jason as the boys had thought. At least not more than her. Otherwise he would have at least gotten mad at her to stick up for her right? She couldn't believe that Jason had simply let is slide this one time for the sake of their friendship and because he felt partly responsible. Nor could she take the words that had been said to her for face value. She had convinced herself that Jason had been pressured into saying those things because of Jenny. Though she did not know how she had done it, she was determined to put a stop to it and make this insignificant person disappear from their lives. So, knowing full well what the truth was, she decided to poke Jenny where she thought it would hurt the most. "So what's your name, how did it feel to watch your man be kissed by me? Yesterday you were making fun of me and telling me I wasn't as important to Jason as I thought I was, but apparently you aren't better off than I am. By now Jason has probably realized what he can get by being together with me, so your break up is probably near. Hope you haven't gotten too attached to my spot yet, because I will be getting it back from you really soon."

Though this information was new to the rest of the class and Elizabeth's followers, they straightened their face in a flash and followed suit instantly. "Yeah, did you really think you were something special to Mr. Westwood. You are at most a friend. She is the future Mrs.. You should know your place and when to admit defeat. How could you compare to someone like miss Elizabeth." Though Jenny was very capable at defending herself, she did not feel like getting into such a petty conversation. It felt like the male equivalent of a pissing contest. What was she supposed to say. "I have kissed him more than once and contrary to what happened with you, he was the one to initiate them." Or "You may have gotten a surprise kiss, but I have gotten not one but two proposals". She could even tease her by revealing the details of that "kiss" by hinting at where her lips had actually touched. She however decided against it. Not only because she did not want to entertain them, but also because Jason had just texted her that he was coming back to the classroom. It shouldn't be long before he would be here and then he could witness the behavior of his good "friend" for himself. Let him see how innocent she is and that her behavior was just an act of "desperation". So Jenny simply stared at them for a moment and let out a "hmph" and a smirk. She then bowed over her notebook again and continued copying what was written on the blackboard.

As she was doing this, the necklace holding her engagement ring fell out of her shirt and bungled on her neck, revealing the beautiful design. This did not go unnoticed by Elizabeth who was about to respond to Jenny's behavior with a jabbing comment. She instantly noticed what it was, an engagement ring. She grabbed it instantly, before Jenny had the chance to put it back into her shirt, and gave it a strong pull. The clasp of the necklace snapped and the ring was now in the hands of Elizabeth. "You no longer have a need for this anymore. Jason will break things off with you soon and by then this will belong to me anyways. You might as well hand it over to me now and save us the trouble then. I quite like the design and it would suit me much better than it would ever suit you." Elizabeth, who took Jenny's silence as an admitted defeat, did not notice Jason who had been standing in the door opening observing what was happening nor the anger in his eyes. It wasn't until she saw Jenny's eyes face to the direction of the door and she was tapped on the shoulder by one of her lackeys who pointed her in that direction as well, that she realized what was going on.
