A pesky little detail

When Jason arrived at the table, he had built up a small amount of hope. Hope that tonight's truce would carry over past tonight and would give them a chance to make up for real, but when he handed Jenny the plate and got nothing more than a polite 'thank you' and a trace of a smile, that hope was shattered. After staring at her for a moment with a sense of defeat and a hint of disbelieve, he shifted his focus to the chess match in front of him. As he watched them play, a subconscious smile came on his face from what he noticed. His grandfather clearly didn't want to scare his newly found opponent away and decided to indulge her as he dragged their match on much longer than would be necessary considering Jenny's skills and moves. Seeing the serious expression on Jenny's face as she contemplated her next move, he could tell that she wasn't aware of what his grandfather was doing and he wouldn't be the one to break the illusion.

Instead he added to it by saying, "Well grandfather, it appears that Jenny is proving to be quite a challenge. Your skills at chess seem to be a lot better than you thought Jen." Jenny didn't look up and replied with an "Uhn" as she remained focused on the board in front and continued to plan out her strategy. Feeling a little hurt by her cold reaction Jason's expression fell for just a second, before he forced himself to get himself together again. By the time his grandfather looked up at him to say, "She sure is." he had already plastered on a polite smile on his face. Though it wasn't enough to convince his grandfather, it was enough to make it clear to him that his grandson did not want to get into it. So, just as he wished, his grandfather pretended to see nothing. Instead he turned to face Jenny as he praised his granddaughter-in-law. "You greatly undersold your skills Jenny. I am glad I wasn't convinced by your modesty, otherwise my underestimation would have been my downfall." Jenny chuckled and said, "You are too kind grandfather. It must be luck that is on my side, otherwise you would have beaten me many moves ago. Quite frankly I myself am surprised that I lasted this long."

Though the reaction he got from Jenny was far from what he had hoped for, it did show him one thing. That the only way of them getting intimate in any way, shape or form tonight, would be if he would be willing to be shameless. And as the night progressed, he felt more and more willing to put on that role. Feeling ignored by Jenny who apparently refused to leave his grandfather's side now that she had gotten in his good graces, a pesky little detail like 'voluntarily' that stood in between them started to seem less and less important. When Jenny left the table to go to the bathroom, Jason took his chance as he excused himself and followed after her. Remaining a few steps behind her to avoid Jenny noticing him, he walked across the guest-filled room and went to the hall where the ladies room was located. There he waited for Jenny patiently, like he had done once before at a different party they had both attended, one where they were on good terms, one that seemed so long ago right now.

When Jenny finished washing her hands and reapplied the little make up she was wearing, she opened the door to head back to the party only to come face to face with Jason before she could do so. Startled by his appearance across the ladies room, she asked "What are you doing here, isn't the men's room at the other side of the room?" Jason pushed himself off the wall and started moving towards the unsuspecting Jenny. "They are, but I didn't come here because I was looking for a bathroom." Feeling a sense of danger coming from Jason's move and expression, Jenny instinctively started backing away as she innocently asked, "What were you looking for then?"

Jason chuckled, "Isn't that clear? I was looking for you." As he spoke he narrowed in on Jenny, switching their position from him leaning against a wall to her being backed into one. With those words and what happened next, Jenny started to get a grasp on what Jason was trying to do, though by that time it was already too late. Jason placed one hand against the wall and one on the small of her back. He pulled her in closely until they were pressed against each other. Jenny looked up with a startled expression as she said, "What are you doing Jason? Let me go. We should go back. Grandfather must be waiting for us." But Jason had no plan of returning to the table. At least not before he got what he came here for. Something he felt he had been waiting too long for and had endured for long enough.

Under Jenny's watchful glare, Jason stole his first kiss. Though it was a short, warm kiss, as he was quickly interrupted by Jenny who pushed him away, it was enough to make Jenny's claws come out and make her wary. "What do you think you are doing?! Let me go right now, before someone walks in on us. Don't push your luck here." "Why? We are having a truce right? Shouldn't that truce also include this? You said that it would be like our fight never happened. And I can tell you that if that fight hadn't taken place I sure would have kissed you like this."

Here we are with today's chapter. I will try to finish up the second one as well. I hope you all enjoy and look forward to what comes next :D
