A notorious vixen!

Jenny looked at Jason in a way that showed she wasn't willing to accept Jason's words. She wasn't willing to take this as their only solution. They had just gotten married. Their first year of marriage shouldn't be spent hiding and scheming but at the same time she knew that Jason was doing this so that they could return to their normal ways as soon as possible. If he didn't take this opportunity now, it would become that much harder to sniff out every untrustworthy person later down the line. Disrupting their lives longer and forcing them to look over their shoulder each time until that moment. As her mind was in chaos and disarray, she listen to Jason talk.

"I know it won't be easy. I know this is a lot to take in. I too had hoped for a different kind of life for you and me but this is something I have to do. I almost blew it back then when I took revenge for them causing you to leave me. I managed to distract them from any weird thoughts by throwing my anger on me acting that way because they had touched something that was mine, because they had meddled in my life. That I would have done that regardless of who or what they had interfered in in my life. You returning on your own instead of me finding you helped sell that story. Us not reconciliating right away and us not using our personal vows added to the credibility as well. They took that as us only getting married because my parents want us to get married. Jotting down my behaviour to you when you just returned as proof that I did not actually care for you but that between us there was just a relationship of mutual benefit. They could easily believe that the "gold digging poor girl" would turn back to a "catch" like me with her tail between her legs.

Having had that perfect reason for fueling my anger and showing them who I 'truly' am, I cannot back down now. I have to strike while the iron is hot before they catch wind of how the relationship between you and I is. They cannot know how much I really care about you, because that will simply put a target on your back. I want you to be the innocent carefree kind woman that I have come to know and love. I won't let you dirty your hands or get harmed, but things cannot be the same for me. So, I hope you understand and can go along with me on this one thing. It is for the best of both of us and our future."

With her eyes cast down and her hands still in the palm of Jason's hands, Jenny shook her head. Jason was about to start trying to convince Jenny once more when she looked up with determined eyes. Before he could say a thing, she explained why she had rejected his idea. Jenny surprised him by saying, "I will do something even better. I won't just be a meek little lamb in need of you protection, waiting to be hunted by one of the bad wolfs out there. I may be innocent in many different ways, but I have never been one to take bullying lying down. Instead I will become the devil's match. I will show them just what I am capable of. If they want a gold digger, I will give them one. In fact, I will be the best, most obnoxious, gold digger they have ever met. Wearing their insults as badges of honour. I will punish them in ways they couldn't even think of in their wildest dreams or in their worst nightmares. Putting myself out there as the person that holds value in your eyes because I can fight on the same level as you. Being untamed. Someone that cannot be controlled by the great Jason himself much less the likes of them."

Jason was astounded. He had thought everything out so well. Every little detail had passed through his mind multiple times. But in just seconds Jenny had thought of an even better alternative. Him guarding her and keeping her out of sight, would make them doubt him only considering her as a lust object that his parents had chosen for him and happened to suit his taste. Someone that had become his wife, not by choice but by him and his family being blinded by her charms. However, by Jenny acting along and selling that idea, they would hopefully remain clueless a lot longer. Keeping not only Jenny a lot safer but also allowing them to interact a lot more than would otherwise have been possible. Jason switched his hands from Jenny's hands to her face and planted a kiss on her lips. "Genius! You never cease to amaze me. I knew there was a reason I liked you." Jenny smiled teasingly as she responded, "Oh, was it only for my brain? I thought it was because of my devilish charm?" "Ha ha ha, getting into character already. Well yes, those charms certainly played a role as well." With a wink he added, "Hopefully you will be able to convince my dear family members that that role was much bigger than it actually was." As she put her arms around Jason's waist she responded, "I guess now it won't be just you who starts work on Monday. I will be entering the stage as well and steal the show, just like one would expect from a notorious vixen."
