A kind husband

Even though Jenny assured Jason that she was fine and well entertained, he would make sure to check up on her from time to time. Even chasing Julia away from the spot by her feet so he could sit there and keep her company himself. In the end he didn't last in the Jacuzzi long and soon jumped up and sat beside her. Making Jenny share the blanket just large enough for two. After a little under an hour, all had had enough and called it a night.

The next two days passed by in the blink of an eye, making the trip feel too short for all those that were about to leave. Each of them decided to spend the day with their own parents, to give them a proper send off by having a day of quality time with their child that had left the nest at an early age. Especially by Mary, who was about to leave for the Netherlands, this day was very much appreciated and enjoyed. After enjoying a few laughs, while playing a couple of rounds of cards and enjoying a 'pre-dinner' with the entire group back at the hotel, a large car came to pick all of them up and bring them to the plane that was waiting for them. The plane that took them here would remain at the foreign airport to take the others back when their time at the hotel was up as well, the parents would be taking a commercial flight to not impact the environment too excessively for this one trip.

That evening Jenny was very down in spirits as she knew that once they went home, her mother wouldn't be waiting for her at the Westwood mansion like she had been for the past months. That she, as the only person in their party, would not be able to see her mother as easily as she wished. Her existing emotions strengthened by the hormones from her pregnancy, made her reach a deep low. Not wanting to participate in much, not even conversations, contrary to her usual behaviour of being engaging and cheerful, made her mood noticeable by the others. But it wasn't until she said she didn't have much of an appetite and skipped out on their real dinner that followed a few hours after their little 'pre-dinner' with the parents, even retiring to her room before it was even eight o'clock, that they began to get concerned.

Jason, who of course shared their concerns, followed shortly after Jenny. While holding a plate of foods he knew she would enjoy, he entered their room and found Jenny sitting on the bed staring into space. When he closed the door behind him, the sound seemed to catch her attention, which soon returned to the nothingness that occupied it before after a simple greeting. Jason felt himself become upset at seeing Jenny so upset and felt annoyed at himself for not having a solution to her problems. In a soft, gentle tone he started talking to her. "Are you upset at your mother leaving?" Jenny nodded her head in reply, without breaking her eye contact with the blank space before her. "Do you want to talk about it?" Jenny shook her head, saying no. Letting out a small sigh, Jason joined her on the bed, using one hand to hold Jenny tightly against him and the other to hold up the plate that contained her dinner. A meal he wasn't about to let her skip out on.

Once he was seated he continued, "What can I do to cheer you up then? I really don't like seeing you like this. Even when you just moved here you didn't take it as hard as you are taking it now. All I can think of is telling you that your feelings are intensified by hormones and that you will be fine. But that is far from helpful I'm afraid." Despite feeling down just seconds ago, Jenny couldn't help having to laugh at Jason's words of help. Jenny finally letting out a chuckle and actually looking at him, made Jason feel a bit relieved, despite her eyes looking oh so sad. He repeated his question about being able to do anything for her, which she answered by saying, "Just sit here with me and pat my head like you always do. I know that I am hormonal and my emotions are all over the place at the moment. So, I just need a bit of time to process. After that, just like you said, I will be fine." Jason put the plate down on his nightstand and pulled Jenny close properly before placing a kiss on the top of her head and doing exactly what she asked of him. Jenny responded by hugging him back tightly and allowed her uncharacteristic tears to fall down.

Once she was cried out and the wave of emotions that had washed over her had come and washed away, Jenny returned to her cheerful self. Looking up sideways at the ever patient and dotingly compliant Jason. When he noticed her gaze, he looked down and met her eyes. Seeing her smiling genuinely and her eyes having regained their former sparkle, Jason could finally feel fully relieved. The expression showing his sense of relief turned into a full blown smile when Jenny said, "I have become quite famished, if only I had a kind husband, nay the kindest husband in the world, to prepare a plate of my local favourites I would be happy to be called lucky." With a chuckle, Jason loosened his grip around Jenny to free up one hand and grabbed the plate he had put to the side. He handed it over to Jenny and her hungry eyes as he said, "Well then missy, prepare to change your name to lucky. Because as you would have it, you have indeed married a man of that calibre and I am certain that this plate will not disappoint your expectations."

In this way, with just the two of them, they spent some time before Jenny's spirits seemed to have fully recovered and restored. Making her go to the downstairs pool table room to join their friends for what remained of the evening. All of them feeling both relief and excitement to see both of them return to join in on the fun and Jenny's cheerfulness restored.

Here we are with chapter number two! I hope everyone enjoys and I will be back here tomorrow with two more :D
