A heart thumping ride

Jenny and Jason had finally arrived at their regular coffee bar. After a heart thumping ride, Jenny could calm her excited heart with a much needed dose of sugar and caffeine. They walked into the shop and sat at their usual spot, a round table with a round bench seat. And as usual they no longer noticed the stares they got from other customers and the staff, nor did they hear the whispers. They would close themselves off in their own little bubble and enjoyed their mini-date. When the waitress came to deliver their order, she too stole a glance at Jason. Hoping he would notice her, as she had purposely pulled her skirt higher, to reveal her well shaped legs. But Jason only had eyes for Jenny and was staring at her at that very moment. He was looking at her excited expression while she was glancing over the menu, wondering what snack she should pick today. If that wasn't enough to keep the flies away, he made sure to always sit right next to Jenny and put his arm around her the moment they had taken their seats.

So, the waitress swallowed her disappointment and placed the cups down. Seeing that the waitress had already arrived, Jenny rushed to make a choice and picked the first thing that was on her mind, a chocolate chip muffin with a white chocolate center. This was one of her favourites, because the white chocolate was melted despite the muffin not being warm. In her excitement, Jenny didn't even notice the glare the waitress gave her and turned back to talk to Jason. With this the only person affected was the waitress herself, who became even more upset that neither of them appeared to have noticed her. 'Did they treat her like air?!'

The muffin was brought by another waiter as the waitress from before felt so thoroughly defeated that she didn't want to face that lethal combo anymore. This time it was a male waiter who appeared to have taken an interest in Jenny. He was a notorious player and felt confident that he could steal any girl away if he tried. The first blow to his confidence came when he saw Jason, who made him feel like a dirt covered peasant. One that would fade into the background the moment a guy like that stepped into the room. The second blow came, when he had built himself back up and gave his killer smile when he handed Jenny the muffin. He would always do this with girls he liked. Instead of placing the plate down, he would hand them the plate so they would be forced to look up at him and he could charm them with his smile. But Jenny simply grabbed the plate, gave him a polite smile and 'thanks', before immediately turning back to Jason. He wondered if she had even been able to see his face with the speed she had turned back to the man beside her.

The final blow came when he returned later to pick up the empty cups and plate. Trying to use a conversation to make her look at him longer, asking her if the muffin had been to her liking and if he could get them anything else. But even though she looked in his direction and answered his questions politely, it was as if she looked through him. Reverting her attention back to Jason as soon as he stopped talking. With a hanging head he returned to the bar and he too no longer felt able to wait on their table anymore. So, when the time came for them to pay the check, they were helped by their third waiter that afternoon. Jenny and Jason hadn't noticed all the commotion and left in the same bubble they had arrived in.

After dropping Jenny at the nursing home, Jason returned to the house and continued his work. The reason he had been so busy was that he had just two more months till his birthday and he needed his company to be in the best shape and position it could be for the reveal. He didn't just want to defeat his cousins that were competing with him, he wanted to annihilate them so that they wouldn't even feel like competing with him in the future. Showing them the distance between himself and them so clearly that even they would have to acknowledge him. During the whole Max fiasco, he had dropped the ball once. It didn't cost him much, but it did give him a wake up call. He couldn't afford mistakes like that at this point. He needed to be at his A-game. Making him even no longer care about Jenny witnessing some of his work. Something which he had managed to keep hidden till now. But since as long as she wasn't able to interfere or knew the name of his company, he wouldn't be breaking any rules, he decided to stop hiding. It took up too much time and energy to hide it from her, as they were together practically 24/7, time and energy much better spent working on his company.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
At the nursing home Jenny had started her shift and she was telling her colleagues about her birthday. They were all curious after hearing stories about how beautiful she had looked that day from some of the weekday colleagues that had subbed in the weekend to cover for those who were on holiday. Excitedly she told them all about the surprises Jason had prepared for her that day. From a short distance the young doctor watched her as she was telling the story, looking at her smiling face and at her carefree laughter. After watching for a moment, he walked up to the group of chatting ladies and used his clipboard to tap the back of Jenny's head. Making her rub her head and turning around with an angry expression. "Are you done chatting? Don't think that me letting you go home earlier that day means that you can do whatever you want when you show up for work. We have a big round today, so lets get going. Otherwise you can put in the FREE overtime needed to make up for what we aren't able to finish."
Here we are with the second chapter of today. I managed to finish it *o*. I hope you enjoy and I wish you all a good night. Tomorrow I wil be back with another chapter!
