A good one

As Jenny wrapped the fleece blanket, she had grabbed from her room around herself. She walked up to Jason, who had his back facing her. She said playfully "Hey, watcha doing?", which caught Jason's attention and made him look over his shoulder as closed the distance between them and took a seat by his side. Once he saw that it was Jenny, he turned back to look in front of him as he responded "Nothing much. Just enjoying a bit of peace and quiet." Jenny chuckled "Yea, you have been through enough today. Mind if I join you? Or do you want to be alone for a bit?" Jason grabbed her hand from underneath the blanket and said "No, I never need a break from you. You can join me wherever I am." He said with a cheeky smile, hiding the double meaning of his words. Jenny replied with another chuckle and a "Good to know.".

Jenny lifted her blanket and wrapped one side of the blanket around Jason and kept one side around herself, covering them both from the chilly breeze. When Jason felt the blanket, he looked down at Jenny and smiled, before wrapping his arm around her to pull her close. With that they sat in the back yard in silence for a moment. Just enjoying the darkening sky and the silence that the night brought with it. From behind the window Mary was watching them sit side by side and she looked at the both of them get along with a smile on her face. She had always been a bit worried about marrying her only daughter over to a family overseas.

She didn't want to be too involved in their lives as her own mother-in-law had been a very meddlesome woman and it hadn't done her relationship with Jenny's father well. Neither had her father-in-law who was a very strict and old-fashioned man. So, she had decided that when she had children and they got married, she would only show support and not involve herself in their matters unless they came to her themselves. So, with Jenny she had done just that. Sure, they talked to each other every few days, but it wasn't the same as seeing her in person. Seeing her expressions, watching her interact with Jason and her in-laws, seeing her live her daily life. Now that she had seen how Jason had been behaving around her family these past few weeks and how he had tried to get along with everyone today and even this sight of seeing them supporting each other made her feel at ease.

Mary's older sister came up behind her and watch what she was looking at and placed a hand on her shoulder before she said "You picked a good one. It is clear to see he is a good boy and he put up with a lot today for the sake of our Jenny. He will surely work hard to keep her happy." "Yeah. He is a good one, isn't he? From the day I met him I felt that he had a good heart, so I stood up for him when they had their misunderstanding back during our first visit and I am glad I did. I see a lot of happiness in their future. No matter what night I dream about them, I always see a warm sunny garden and hear cheerful laughter of what must be my future grandchildren." Mary said with a chuckle. "That sounds like a wonderful dream indeed, but considering their age, that should be quite far into the future." Jenny's aunt said in return as she let out a chuckle of her own.

"Yeah, it probably is. I guess I will have to count on the guys if I want to see grandchildren in the near future." Mary said with a sigh. "Ha, ha, ha. Have you informed your poor sons of this expectation as well? Do they even have a girl in their lives, or do you have another way of making those wishes come true?" Her sister said as she laughed at Mary's words. Suddenly her younger sister put her arm around the shoulders of both her sisters and asked with curiosity "What wishes? What are we looking at?" When her eyes landed on Jenny and Jason on the bench in the cold, but looking as peaceful as a painting. "Taw. Will you look at that? How sweet. Young romance sure is something else. I can't remember the last time me and my husband sat with each other like that."

"Well maybe if you would tame that shrew like behaviour of yours every once in a while, or dress up for him like you do for your friends, then he might feel like hugging you. Now he is too busy fending his life from you." Mary said jokingly, making all sisters laugh out loud, catching the attention of the others in the living room. Like little meercats, their heads shot up and turned around to look at the three sisters and they asked almost on cue "What's so funny?". In unison they replied "Nothing!" and the younger sister tried to get rid of their suspicion by adding "All girls have a few secrets and by the time we turn into women, we have a lot of them. These secrets add to our charm. So, don't pry into the methods, when you like the result." she said with conviction, confusing the men that were playing cards around the coffee table. They shook their head as they continued their game, including that sister's husband. While her sister had distracted the others, Mary closed the curtains to give Jenny and Jason some privacy so they could enjoy their time alone without the prying eyes of their family.
