A fair

Jenny and Jason were on another one of their sightseeing tours when they heard loud sounds and children's cheers. When Jenny spotted where the excitement they heard was coming from, a bright smile bloomed on her face as well. She pulled Jason's hand back and pointed as she said "Look Jace! It's a fair!" When Jason let his eyes follow Jenny's pointed finger, they landed on a vision of bright lights, stalls, and a crowd of people of all different ages. Jason could tell what Jenny wanted to do with just one look on her face, which wasn't difficult to do since all that was missing was a stamp on her forehead saying "I want to go there!". Jason chuckled and he walked up to Jenny who was hanging her weight on his arm. He put his arm around her shoulders as they headed towards the coloured lights and the different sounds the rides and games were making.

Jenny's eyes were sparkling as she looked around the different stalls and was pulled into the enthusiasm of the people surrounding them. "I used to love coming to fairs. They always had the best food and all the sweets were three times the normal size. My hands used to be too small to even hold them properly. Let's get something to eat before we walk around and pick what to do." "ha, ha, ha. How is your mind on food already? If people knew what a glutton you are, they would be shocked. Your elegant image would be shattered instantly." Jenny shrugged and said, "Oh well, what they don't know, won't hurt them." She dragged Jason along to the first thing her eyes landed on, which was a store that sold a certain Dutch specialty, the so called "poffertjes". They are bite sized mini pancakes, that are fluffy and sweet. They are covered with powdered sugar and are more commonly eaten during colder days, but during a fair all types of unexpected foods would come together. Luckily the hottest hours of the day had already passed, and it was a more windy day then the past two days, making the heat coming from the snack bearable.

Jenny fed herself and Jason in turns, sneaking an occasional extra turn in for herself, and they walked around to see what would catch their eye. The first thing that did was a tin can booth. Jenny had spotted a large stuffed animal that rivalled a newborn kitten in softness. Jenny fell in love with it the moment her hand grazed by it. She immediately stopped in her movement, making Jason turn back. He saw her petting the toy for a few times before looking up and quoting the little girl in 'Despicable me' with the sentence "It's so fluffy I'm gonna die!". Catching Jason off guard, who needed to blink once extra before he laughed while holding his stomach. "Ha, ha, ha. What is up with that reaction. Do you really like it that much?" "Laugh all you want, but this is coming home with me tonight." "Oh my, such confident words. Are you sure you have the skills to do it?" With a glaring look on her face Jenny replied, "Watch me!".

With the soft after laughs of Jason, they turned around and walked back to the vendor to buy a turn for a chance at winning that prize. Considering the size of the toy, it was probably one of the main prizes, which meant you had to knock over all the cans of all three stacks to win it. Jenny grabbed the balls from the vendor's hands and stood in front of the targets. The large tennis balls could barely fit in her small hands, making it difficult for her to throw them with the strength needed to knock everything over, but did not stop Jenny. She stood firm, drew her hand back as if she were playing baseball instead of a fair-game, and threw the ball with all her might. Sadly, not only was the force she could throw with affected by these balls, but also the accuracy. The balls were rather light and the occasional gusts of wind, would make the ball change its trajectory, making Jenny miss her target. With only two more balls left to throw and three stacks to knock over, she had already lost her chance to earn the fluffy toy that had caught her attention.

She was allowed to purchase extra balls, but it would lower her points, changing the category of toys she could pick from. So instead she gave up this turn and payed for a new turn all together. However again she was unsuccessful. Though she managed to land the ball, she wasn't able to put enough force behind the ball to knock over all the cans in one throw. After a total of four turns and twelve balls, she was fully frustrated and on the verge of giving up. Jason was still standing by the side, with a smug smile on his face. It was clear to Jenny he would not help her unless she asked him to. She stared back and forth between the stuffed bear and the smug look on Jason's face. Wondering if the toy was worth it to ask him for help. After some contemplating, she turned to Jason. With big strides she walked in Jason's direction, but to his surprise she walked right past him.

Here we are with the first chapter of today. Jenny and Jason are having a nice date amidst all the family visits and planned activities. I hope you like it and I will be back later today with chapter number 2!
