A box in hand

Jenny was standing in front of the mirror after putting her previous dress back on. She had just finished drying herself and getting ready for Jason's second surprise. She was glad she had tied up her hair for the bath, otherwise Jason's little prank would have made her efforts from before for nothing in the end. He had made sure that her head was above water and that was the only reason he had gotten away with a single blow to his abdomen. Jason had almost forgotten that Jenny had been trained by her brothers in the art of self defense, which included getting free from the grasps of an offender. Though not exactly what they had in mind when they taught her that, it proved suitable for giving Jason a rude awakening of her capabilities. He had let go of her once he felt her blow land and held his stomach. He was calling out "Oww" as he laughed. That tiny tiger packed quite a punch. Though her strength wasn't enough to actually harm him, he wasn't expecting it. The unexpectedness combined with Jenny knowing where to strike to inflict the most pain, made it so that he did feel her momentary anger.

She had stepped out of the pool with the wet towel wrapped around her and had walked straight inside after shooting him a sharp glare. Luckily he had already prepared his "apology". He put the clothes he had left in the hidden room back on and headed to the kitchen to heat up the food and put the finishing touches on the table. He lit a few long candles, set the plates and prepared a non-alcoholic cocktail to match Jenny's taste. A mixture of iced green tea, limes, lemon, mint and an added sweet touch, made a perfectly refreshing drink suitable for the warm weather of today and Jenny's preferences. He had just finished placing the little umbrella in her drink, when she walked through the kitchen doors. She came in with eyes shooting daggers, but the moment her eyes landed on the table and the man standing behind the bar with a big smile and a drink in hand, she couldn't stay mad. She let out a small puff of air out of her nostrils from amusement and shook her head. She entered the kitchen and walked in his direction and he did the same, meeting her perfectly in the middle.

To make sure he wouldn't face another ambush, he took a small bow and said "Your table awaits milady". Hearing Jenny laugh, he knew he was out of the dog house and took the last step to close the distance between them completely. As if nothing had happened he put his hand on her lower back and pulled her near as he handed her the drink. "I hope you are hungry, I made a meal with many of your favorites, with a healthy touch." Jenny put her arm around his waist as well, returning his half-a-hug. "Did you now? Well then let's have it. If it is anything like your cooking this morning, I won't have anything to complain." She said with a broad smile.

They walked over to the warm meal that was waiting on the table and Jason helped her to her chair and got her seated. As he returned to his chair, Jenny looked down at the plate in front of her and got excited from what she was seeing. She quickly placed the folded napkin on her lap to prevent her from staining her dress, eager to dig in. Once Jason seemed ready as well, she clinked glasses with him and picked up her fork to have her first bite. Jason wanted to observe her reaction before he would start eating his own share, so he was simply holding a fork in hand as he was staring at Jenny's face. Once the food landed in her mouth and a smile appeared on her face, he felt relieved and started eating as well. Jenny could tell that he had worked hard on this meal and she was feeling very lucky. Almost forgetting the little pool incident.

They had shared a wonderful meal and were just about to clear the plates, when the doorbell rang. Jenny was surprised, because the others weren't supposed to be back today. Including Nick and Elizabeth, because Jason had sent them a message the moment they had planned to have a date at home. Despite the look on Jenny's face, Jason's face was unchanged as he got up and walked out of the kitchen. He returned moments later with a box in hand. "What's that? Who was at the door?" Ignoring Jenny's questioning stares and words, who was still sitting at the table, he opened the box up and retrieved a covered plate and a small gravy boat. He passed by her and placed the gravy boat in the microwave for a few seconds. Jenny followed his every move with curiosity and watched as he returned to the table and removed the cover hiding the contents of the plate. It revealed a chocolate orb, much like the one he had used during his proposal, and Jason poured the contents of the gravy boat over the orb. Just like before the chocolate melted instantly and parted to reveal not a ring box, but multiple scoops of different flavors of ice cream and small pieces of brightly colored fruits.

Jenny's eyes were shimmering from excitement as she looked up at Jason. "Jace, what is all of this?" Jason as unfazed as ever and said "Well you said you wanted ice cream, but you didn't want to go out, so I brought the ice cream to you." Jenny was shocked by his words. What kind of guy had she actually found. To think she had rejected him once. How stupid had she been back then? "If you do this much for a simple date, what will you do for an anniversary?" Jason's eyes turned secretive with a hint of teasing as he responded with a "That. Is something for me to know and you to find out." Jenny chuckled and said "Well then I will simply look forward to it." as she took a scoop of the ice cream in front of her.
