[MC pov]

In pursuit of power, all I have to do is know my priority. It's been a hella' year, I learned the 2nd type of haki, my Armament Haki reaches a normal purple colour and I can cover wherever part of my body. I still keep practising it along with the Kenbunshoku Haki.

I learned it last month where I entirely focus on my surroundings and people. It was easy once you get used to the feeling but hard at the same time when I first learned it. I know Observation Haki was like your third eye like a grey world. I can only observe up to 10 metres from my location. The progress was slow as it was like dividing multiple tasks.

My Devil fruit gains a passive boost since my body was strong enough. I could make my body into an atom for a mere second. Boy, it was interesting as it feels different when I entered that phased, I feel like I'm everywhere within my range. Though I got tired out and got unconscious, it was worth trying that

Nina and I will be separated or adopted as I stand to a thug-like appearance. I'm in a separate room and this man was checking me and keeps nodding at me approvingly.

"Kid, what's your name?" He said as I glance at him and looked down.

"Oliver."

"From now on, we will be your family and know that if somebody hurts you or us, we'll protect each other as that's what families do."

Goodness man, if I don't know what you hide underneath your shirt, I might presume you'd be a saint.

"Let's go now."

He motions me to follow him and as we walked out, I saw Nina got a teary eye looking at me while behind her was a transgender couple waiting for me I think. Nina runs up to me and hugs me tightly as she said.

"Oli, can't we go together with the same mother and father?"

"...."

"Please visit me if you have time in the future." she said as I was silent and my heart ached.

"Welcome to our humble home." He said as the door opened from inside, revealing 2 men with a knife and gun holsters on their waist.

I guess correctly, he chose me because of my physique which differs me from the rest of the kids in the orphanage. Not surprising for me since High quality can do good for them, I might do the same if I were in their position. Good thing was, that the family that adopted Nina was kind and might have power or connection.

The house is not poorly decorated as it was intended to be. When I got inside, some of the men do a posture that gave way to the Leader as I followed behind him. More than 30 men were working had stopped what their doing as they look for a second then back to the leader.

"This is Oliver, our new family member and don't be fooled by these kids' appearances or you might die." He said as I was confused by his remark at me.

What the.. so he's an observant type? A type of intuition or something I think? This is interesting.

"How so?"

A man standing near him said as he look at me then at the leader.

"I said so, from today on Oliver will be free to do what he wants and special in command. This means that our priority is our family and the second is him."

The leader said as it caused a silence. I thought it may cause a conflict but I didn't see this reaction as they all nodded and agreed, saluting me by fist-pumping me in my chest along with the leader. After that, the leader and I go into his office where he sits and talks to me with his eyes closed.

"You seem confused? It's only natural as they call me 'Crazy Butcherer' unpredictable, and a crazy one. I didn't introduce myself, my alias is "Mathy" you can call me that." He said as he open the drawer below his table and takes out a cigarette to smoke.

"What do you think about the world Oliver?" Mathy asked me as he exhale a smoke.

"I don't know, 'Bland' I think." I said to him while I stand quietly.

"Would you want to be my student? I'll teach you a new perspective of the world with many possibilities." Mathy said as he opened his eyes and stare me in the eye.

"Ok." I said as I bow but he stopped me.

How the world will tremble when he stepped whether on the light or darkness. Doesn't matter to me as I can see his potential. From the first time I see this kid, he emits an aura that is far more dangerous than that Old Man.

I might even be promoted to 2-star. Though I don't know what awaits the future, doesn't matter if he defects as long as I am alive, that's all it matters.

"We'll start tomorrow, so go eat and take a rest early." I said as the kid closed the door behind he will be pointed to his room.

This is my last chance, and I know what I did in the past was due to my reckless and overestimating myself. When this ends I will go to another place anyway.
