41 Siege (Pt.3)

Lucian's ears ring from the explosion above as he meets the soft ground below. Siegfried lands to his right with a groan.

'Huh?'

His hands feel at the ground around him as he looks around.

Mud.

'Harald.'

Lucian jumps to his feet and helps Siegfried up. The sounds of battle carry on above as the remaining soldiers fight to their last.

Harald is 50ft away from the wall, running towards the keep with the last of his troops. Nearly 100 men, weary from battle and moving as if a demon is short on their heels.

"Bang!"

Faerdham's iron gates resound with impact.

"Bang!"

Lucian slams Siegfried on his back.

"Let's go!" He shouts, they both rush to the safety of the keep.

Iris eagerly greets Lucian inside the hall. Her hackles high as her eyes glance to the door.
