A decision to change a lifetime

Everyone has that one decision, that one moment in their lives that they think back to from time to time and wonder what could have been if they had made a different choice a different decision. A point in time they wish they could go back to. After saving a stranger, Laila has been offered a chance to do just that. Laila has nothing she could want from an outsiders perspective. She lives in a big mansion, with a handsome husband and two beautiful children but in reality her life is far from perfect and she couldn't remember the last time she was truly happy. So, if she was offered a chance to change that, shouldn't she take it? How crazy and unbelievable that chance might seem? This story is indeed in a way a rebirth story but it isn't your typical rebirth story. It is one where the second male lead actually gets the girl. So, if you have ever screamed at your screen over yet another female lead picking the horrible first male lead over the second just because he has realized the error of his ways and therefore all he has done in the past should be forgiven and forgotten, well then search no farther as this is the story for you! Join me in the first week of May as we start this story of how a single decision can determine a lifetime or change it! Until then, feel free to look at my just completed novel A devil's match :D

Complicated & Dangerous

Laila had by now changed her position from leaning against Noah to sitting with her legs crossed on one side of the couch, while he was leaning sideways on the other side, so that they could face each other. Laila was amazed that Olivia had made so many attempts to get to Noah. Hearing Noah talk made Laila glad that she had warned him when she had and about the way she had done it. Who knows how things would have turned out if she hadn't. Now the time had come for her to tell Noah the truth. The truth about Olivia and herself... Though she would have to see if she had the courage to let him in on that second secret yet.

Laila began by saying, "Well not everything I told you was a lie. But the full truth was a bit complicated and could put you in danger. So, I wanted to tell you about it, when we were face to face. Plus, I don't know all the details yet. So, bear that in mind as you listen." She then looked up at Noah with a nervous look in her eyes and when she saw him nod, she looked away again to get ready for the second part. The difficult part.

Laila took a deep breath as she prepared herself for what she was about to say, grabbed Noah's hand tightly in hers and while avoiding his eyes, she began talking. "Okay so a few weeks ago I started wondering why I was friends with Olivia. She was being horrible to some of the staff members and in multiple ways to me as well. Plus, I felt that her interest in you went beyond that of her friend's husband but was leaning more towards love interest. This feeling was strengthened the day she came to visit when you were working from home and I took a nap on the couch. That day I wasn't actually sleeping but I was listening to you two talk. I wanted to know what she would do if she thought I wasn't listening. To me, she crossed multiple lines during your conversation and made matters worse by telling me lies like you not checking up on me. Even advising me to just ignore you and leave for a few days instead of asking you about it."

Noah seemed surprised by this information but not for the reason Laila had suspected. "You were awake?! Your sleeping looked so convincing. Plus, didn't you get mad at me for that exact reason? Me not checking up on you? So you knew the truth all along." Laila looked at him with a bit of annoyance as she said, "Is that really what matters right now?! Didn't you hear a word I said before or after that?" Noah realized that this was not the time to be hung up on small details like that and apologized. "Sorry, sorry. You are right. Continue your story." After rolling her eyes for a brief second, Laila did what Noah said and continued the story.

"Well, after that day I asked the staff about Olivia and about my past with her. They confirmed my suspicions of her having her eye on you. This was also confirmed when I reached out to Maria. But since I had a feeling she was more dangerous than she appeared to be and Maria warned me of this as well, I asked Giselle and the others if they could ask around to find out if it was just her liking you or if there was some sort of plan to make you her own. During my girl's trip they informed me that she was in fact scheming and had been from the day she found out who you were. She began by doing the simple things in order to seduce you in the old fashion way but when she saw you wouldn't betray me on your own, she decided to change her game and drug you while I was away. Hoping to use my absence as a way to meet with you alone and slip something in your food or drink and get you to cheat on me. Planning to use the evidence of that to get you to leave me or have me leave you. This is why I gave you that warning."

Laila took a small pause to let this sink in with Noah before she got herself ready to reveal the last part of this Olivia story. "Another thing they discovered, which made me reconsider telling you the truth from the start, was that Olivia has a secret backer. This person is supposedly a competitor of yours and he is helping her from the shadows. She plans on using you to help him as a repayment if you choose her or have him destroy you if you still refuse to be with her after she has used all her tricks on you. So, I wanted to make sure she doesn't catch wind of us being on to her until you have discovered who this backer might be and have eliminated him yourself. Only then can we go after Olivia herself."

Sorry for being late. I had some guests that stuck around longer than anticipated. Here is chapter number 1 and the second one is on its way!
