CHAPTER 3 : A Complete Loss.

In complete shock of Higabana's sudden confession, Yuu froze in place until he decided to hide himself in the blanket as he lay down again.

...𝘯𝘰𝘱𝘦…. 𝘐 𝘭𝘰𝘴𝘦… 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘪𝘴 𝘵𝘰𝘰 𝘮𝘶𝘤𝘩.

"... that's unfair, Higabana-san…." he said as he sulked under the blanket, however, Higabana didn't falter.

"What is?" instead, she showed her the same innocent smile she had always shown him, but for him now, it looked more beautiful than anything else.

"You really should stop teasing me like that…." Yuu continued to sulk.

"Am I now?"

"Yes, you are. I may be sick, but you shouldn't lie like that."

"Lie? Did you seriously think that... after mustering so much courage to finally confess...."

Yuu stared blankly at Higabana's red as tomato face, although his was pretty red as well.

"...In fact, I thought I acted well to hide my… embarrassment…" Higabana's voice got quieter and quieter, which made Yuu take a peek at why.

"..." both had exchanged eye contact, while completely red.

"Pfft." they were both staring blankly at each other, until Yuu suddenly chuckled.

"W-What is it…." Higabana asked him as she placed both hands on her thighs and leaned a bit forward while pouting.

𝘎𝘰𝘥, 𝘴𝘩𝘦'𝘴 𝘵𝘰𝘰 𝘤𝘶𝘵𝘦…. Yuu thought to himself while he basically looked at her.

"Oh, no…. It's just that… you're incredibly innocent and cute. Higabana-san."

"?!...." she became even more flustered, and started punching him. It didn't hurt or anything, in fact, it felt like an extremely light massage.

"Sorry, sorry…." he said as he tried to stop her, until she knelt down and leveled her face to his, although the only thing he can see right now is her eyes.

"Dummy…."

"Hahaha…." Yuu continued to chuckle lightly, until….

"Yuu, you dummy…."

"Y-Yuu?!" in surprise, Yuu slightly sat up and pulled himself off of his blanket.

"Aoi." she said in a clear, serious tone.

"Th-Thats…" Yuu knew it was too much for him to call the girl he like by her first name, even if she suddenly confessed out of nowhere.

"A-O-I~!" she insisted as she pushed her face towards his while he pulled away every time she did. She was clearly embarrassed, and her face was as red as a tomato. But her resolve to do that overcame her embarrassment that Yuu had no choice but to follow her.

"Th-Then…. Aoi…." he said as he averted his gaze.

"Yeah, Yuu!" she said gleefully as she pulled away and sat back down. Until her resolve finally lost against her embarrassment and went redder up to her ears.

Until a third party 𝘤𝘢𝘮𝘦 𝘣𝘢𝘤𝘬.

"Sorry to interrupt you two lovebirds, but the doctor would like to check on him, as well as his parents."

Surprised by the sudden voice which came from the probable mastermind, Kurokami Sora, Aoi stood up and turned around.

"That's how it is, Yuu. I'll just go to the bathroom, I'll return later. Bye~" she was as gleeful and as free as she could ever be, but she didn't leave any room for Yuu to even respond.

As soon as she neared the door which was immediately closed by Sora, she closed the door and quickly leaned against it.

"Did you make it?"

"Yeah…. Never expected it to be this embarrassing though."

"Haha—" Sora chuckled "is that so? Should I congratulate you on your relationship?"

"Don't bother, you devil…"

"Shouldn't you be thanking me for helping you two out?" he said teasingly.

"Yes, yes. Thank you. 𝘒𝘶𝘴𝘰kami Sora-sensei." she said flatly and sarcastically as she continued to the hallway.
