With an air of cautious diplomacy, Midas extended an olive branch to them, approaching them first and introducing himself.

But there was way more at play. 

By singling out the Clan Leader amongst their more than 300 people, Midas demonstrated a sharp eye and keen instinct and by approaching alone, with his people joining after him, he demonstrated his ability, strength and confidence.

What seemed like a normal greeting was Midas communicating, "I can read the room and know who to talk to. I understand how strong I am, and I have faith in my abilities if things ever got sticky."

Even his words were deliberate, introducing himself as the Secret Clan which had been first place in getting to the Golden Keys twice in a row straight.

He had done this not only to give himself status and prestige in their hearts, as the Leader of a Clan of winners, but also to make them understand that he did not come here to play. He meant business.
