Chapter 4

The man’s pale skin and red hair made Bill think of strawberries and cream. He licked his lips, so wanting to taste Rusty’s skin to see if the fantasy matched with reality. Bill became aware that Rusty had said something that he hadn’t caught. “I’m sorry, what did you say?”

“What makes you think we don’t have any work?” Rusty repeated.

Bill recounted his conversation with the cowboy in the ranch yard.

“I do the hiring and firing around here, not Slim Walker,” Rusty said, putting his hat back on his head and puffing out his impressive chest.

Bill fought hard to keep his gaze on Rusty’s handsome face and not drop to the man’s impressive set of chest muscles.

“The boss has just bought another thousand acres, so we need another hand.” Without missing a beat, he continued with, “Heard you’re good with horses.”

“Uh, yes. I pretty much ran the barn at the Triple G.”

Rusty nodded and scratched his chest. Bill lost the battle and found himself staring at the man’s pecs.
