You Are Forgiven

Chapter 4

10 minutes later Alora got out of the bathroom refreshed...

She rested on the bed for a while and then heard her door being knocked on.

Then a voice came" my lady may I come in I bought breakfast with me" It was Jane's voice.

Alora: "yes come in Jane".

Jane then pushed open the door and came in with a food cart.

"My Lady your food is ready" Jane bowed to Alora while saying that.

Alora was satisfied with her attitude she turned to look at the food it was good as the one in breakfast.

"Is there anything else I could do for you my lady" Jane said with a polite tone

Alora responded:" nothing, for now, I just want to eat my food".

Jane squeezed her skirts and sat on the ground.

Alora looked at her silently

Jane then pulled a box from under the cart and hold it up for Alora and said" my lady...I'm sorry for how I treated you in the past...I know that forgiving me is not possible,...But I want to be a better person to serve you...I...I want to return everything I took from you all these years... This is the jewelry that I took from you...I-I'm sorry...".

Alora looked at her for a while and then said" fine...put it in their place...and come I have a question for you...".

" YES MY LADY" Jane then got up from the ground and put the jewelry into the cabinets...while she was putting them she noticed how some of the jewelry was missing' huh..? I'm sure that there was more last time I checked...could it be some other maids who took them...if that's true then I have to tell lady Alora...I want to show her t serious about...'

Jane then put the rest of the jewelry and walked toward Alora she looked at her nervously...then she said" My Lady...".

"Hmm" answered Alora.

"....while I was returning the jewelry I-I found some was not there...I think some of the other maids took it... I-I swear I didn't take any...except for the one I just returned " Jane looked scared and nervous at the same time...she didn't want Alora to think she hide some of the jewelry from her...

Alora stared at her and then said "Oh, don't worry about that. I noticed it too... don't look for them they were old anyway" after saying that she continued chewing her food' I mean I'm the one who took them after all.

Jane then said, "yes my lady..." She wanted to urge Alora to look for them but she understood what Alora told her in the morning she's just a servant her job was to listen to her master's orders...

Alora then said," I finished eating put the dishes away and come near me I want to ask you a question".

Jane hurriedly put the dishes on the cart and stood in front of Alora.

"What do you want to ask me, my lady?".

Alora: "tell me honestly why did you hate me other than being adopted by the duke I didn't do anything for you "of course I know the reason but I just want to hear it from her.

' In every cycle, Jane proved to me that she is a loyal person who deserves a second chance...I finally realized that when everything was too late...on that cycle, I won her over because I was too lazy to care about myself I wanted someone to do that... and she became very loyal to me... I thought she was just pretending to be because she just wanted to live better so I didn't care about her...but she just changed my view of her completely...I was about to be beheaded by Violet's fiancee the crown prince, and that demon and was crying in his chest like she always does sometimes I wonder how her tears never end. like she's crying 24/7 is the demonic magic this strong?? anyway, I thought I was going to die like I always do but then Jane stood in front of him and begged him to forgive me her body was shaking she was scared but still stood up for me...I was shocked by her actions I never thought she would ever do that...but then the crazy bastard looked at her and said he will not kill me if she died instead of me...she didn't hesitate to say yes she looked at me in the eyes and told me this "my lady...it was my honor to serve you please forgive me for not being able to continue serving you as always...and...and please forgive me for everything I have done in the past" her eyes were filled with tears but still smiled at me...

Before I could say anything I saw her head roll in front of me...I still didn't process anything just happened now...Jane the one I thought hated me.... sacrificed herself to save me...I couldn't believe that...the person I thought pretending to be loyal was truly loyal...

I stared at her head her eyes were closed and there was a smile on her face...

Then I heard that fucker saying: "that was boring I thought she will fight back or something...now it's your turn 'my lady' "

It was just a second and I saw everything turn upside down and I saw them laughing at my death... My vision went black...I opened my eyes to see myself in the black space I waited for a while until I was bought back...I didn't believe Jane even after that so I tested her in the following cycles and she proved that she was loyal...that moved my heart and I forgive her for everything she had done...'.

Jane was silent for a bit then she opened her mouth and said:" my lady do you know...I was also born in the slumps like you...when lady Violet found me I was about to die from hunger...she took me in and begged the duke to let me stay here...the duke agreed and I started working as a maid I was about 13 years old on that time...but because I was young the rest of the maids was bullying me...but I didn't say a word...I was angry but I couldn't complain because I was afraid I will go back to the slumps again...my life was Like that for the following month...then the accident happened and Lady Violet became missing...my bullying stopped for a while because the rest of the maids were worried about the lady...I was also worried about her of course...everybody was searching for her but a few days later the duke announced that lady Violet was dead...we were all shocked about that and we couldn't believe it and our days went like this...until the Duke bought you here my lady...we all were angry at the duke how could he give up on his daughter and bring a replac- oh I-I'm sorry my lady I didn't mean to say that" Jane was afraid that Alora would get sad or angry because of her words but to her shock, Alora just told her to continue she didn't look angry nor sad.

Jane then continued talking" we were angry at him but we couldn't say it or we would lose our job so we looked at a different target...we wanted to vent our anger...so everyone blamed you for everything...I was also jealous of you my lady we both came from slumps but yet our fates were different...you are beautiful and were adopted by a Nobel family...but I who have an ordinary face and have to work and endure the other's bullying...so I... bullied you...after I started bullying you...my bullying stopped ...so I continued it until Yesterday morning...I don't know why my lady but after listening to your talk Yesterday... I felt something weird inside me it keeps telling me to apologize to you and serve you right before it was too late. Ah, forgive my mumbling... my lady I know that no matter how many excuses I make none will justify my actions towards you...I don't expect forgiveness from you... I wouldn't even dream about it.... but I beg you...please let me serve you right this time " Jane stared at Alora with serious eyes it was filled with determination and regret.

Alora looked at those eyes and smiled to herself while thinking 'hahaha no matter how many times I see this sense I never get bored with it because I know even if the whole world is against me...the owner of those eyes will always stand by my side...it feels nice having someone to trust and depend on '.

Alora: "Jane".

Jane: "yes my lady" Jane responded nervously.

Alora: "You are forgiven".

Jane: "Huh?"

Jane was stunned she thought she misheard what Alora said and asked in a trembling voice:" my lady I'm sorry but I think I misheard what you just said could you please repeat it once more?"

Alora's smile couldn't stay hidden anymore she laughed and said" you are forgiven, Jane".

"M-my my lady please don't....I...I don't deserve to be forgiven..." At this point, Jane's eyes turned red, and started shedding tears.

"Jane, you deserve to be forgiven...in this mansion if I can forgive anyone it will only be you...you might not know but you proved to me that you deserve to be forgiven".

Jane started crying: " MY LADY!!" she throw herself into Alora's embrace and cried loudly" I'M SORRY MY LADY...HIC....I...I'M SO SORRY." she was repeating the same words again and again...and Alora was just petting her head and comforting her...

After a while, Jane stopped crying

Alora then said:" now go wash your face you look miserable..." her words were harsh but her tone was comfortable to listen to.

Jane laughed and went to the bathroom to wash her face after she finished Alora told her to take the cart out.

Jane then asked: "my lady would you like me to prepare some tea for you?"

"Hmm, I see no reason to refuse...alright, please bring me a nice one ok?".

"Yes," Jane then left with the cart to prepare Alora's tea.
