Chapter Fifteen: Development Method of Sealless Jutsu (Part 4)

The members of Minato's group unconsciously moved backward, instinctively distancing themselves from the lightning. Their subconscious warned them of the danger it held.

Interestingly, Kenji showed no shame in using another creator's jutsu in front of its actual creator.

"The power is comparable to an S-rank ninjutsu," while Kakashi retreated, Minato Namikaze's gaze brightened. The potency of the technique was indeed impressive, but that wasn't what captivated Minato. This sealless ninjutsu achieved a chakra transformation without hand seals, forming a massive amount of chakra. The difficulty of such a feat was remarkable, and that's what intrigued him.

"Indeed remarkable, Kushina, to think that your disciple has developed such a sealless ninjutsu," Minato exclaimed, acknowledging Kenji's achievement. At this moment, Minato was inspired by the Tailed Beast Ball (Bijūdama) and was working on the sealless version, Rasengan. However, he was still in the experimental phase, with only a basic prototype. Incorporating chakra nature transformation into the Rasengan was an even more challenging task.

Sealless ninjutsu had the advantage of being instantly deployable in battle due to the absence of hand seals, a stark contrast to the many-seal requiring techniques that needed time to be executed.

"That's only natural. It goes to show that I am an excellent teacher guiding my students to unleash their full potential," Kushina boastfully stated.

Kenji contemplated whether he should reveal that he had completed this jutsu before meeting Kushina. After some thought, he chose to align with Kushina's statement, as he had no interest in experiencing the consequences of telling the truth.

However, Kenji's explanation led to a misunderstanding on Minato's part. Hurriedly, Kenji clarified, "Minato-senpai, you misunderstood. This technique isn't actually a sealless ninjutsu."

"But you didn't use hand seals just now," Minato expressed his confusion. Kenji's words contradicted what Minato had seen.

Kenji quickly explained, "actually, 'Chidori' cannot be considered a sealless ninjutsu. It's just that my body has a particular affinity for Raiton due to my unique constitution, allowing me to perform it without hand seals. However, 'Chidori' still requires hand seals."

With that, Kenji initiated the hand seals for Chidori, forming the tiger, rabbit, and monkey seals. As he completed the seals, lightning gathered in his palm once again.

In truth, this was a performance for Kakashi's benefit. Kenji did possess a sense of ethics as a copy-nin, even though he stole it from future Kakashi, he didn't want to strip Kakashi of his right to use Chidori. He believed that Kakashi, as the original developer of Raiton Chidori, could easily learn the technique with the correct seal sequence.

Minato responded, "I see. It's due to your natural affinity, then." His interest diminished slightly after learning that Chidori did require hand seals. While Kenji was undeniably a prodigious ninja, Minato's focus was on creating sealless ninjutsu.

By this point, Kenji had developed proficiency in both Raiton and Katon, which were his innate chakra natures. However, he favored Raiton due to its potent single-target destructive power. He still couldn't access A-rank Katon jutsu, which was why he held a preference for Raiton.

Over the next week, Kenji continued to learn other chakra nature transformations under Kushina's guidance, albeit with limited success. Regardless of others' perceptions, Kenji enjoyed the meal and the following days. During that time, he didn't see much of Kushina until after Minato's departure when she wholeheartedly focused on completing the sealing jutsu.

A week later, in the early hours of the morning, at the northwest edge of Konoha's protective barrier, a remote and untouched forest stretched. A man and a woman, Kenji and Kushina, were covertly moving around as the day began to brighten.

Kushina carried a massive sealing scroll, walking a certain distance from Konoha's protective barrier. She halted her steps, explaining to Kenji, "Kenji, come here and place the scroll by the edge of the barrier. Due to specific reasons, I can't get close to the barrier."

Kenji nodded, taking the scroll taller than him from Kushina. Carefully, he approached the barrier's edge and unfurled the scroll on the ground, aligning it as instructed.

The scroll's interior was filled with densely packed characters that formed intricate patterns and symbols. The pattern differed from the original Four Symbols Seal and was even more intricate.

Once the scroll was laid out, Kenji quickly returned to Kushina's side. His cautious approach was not due to cowardice but rather a reasonable desire to keep a safe distance from the potentially hazardous scroll.

"Reporting, Second Squad Leader, our Italian artillery is in position, ready to fire at any moment," he informed Kushina.

Although Kushina didn't fully comprehend Kenji's reference to "Italian artillery," she strangely understood the meaning behind his words. She nodded solemnly.

"In any case, let's move back a bit, and then a bit more. We're not sure of the range of this jutsu's effect, and we must ensure our safety," Kushina instructed with a grave expression.
