Chapter 4 "The net is set"

Too close… He was too close to me…

I took a step back.. my face was burning with embarrassment... Never in my life had I ever felt like that.. I felt my heart beating too fast like it was going to burst.. I'd never been this close to anyone other than my parents, dad, grandpa and a few of my girlfriends..

After looking at his small form I felt even more embarrassed at myself for feeling this way for a small kid… I felt like my mind was going crazy and I realized that I had to quickly make him get out of the room as I still had to change my clothes..

But the truth was I just wanted to get out of this awkward situation as soon as possible, and chase him out of my room.. "W-What are you doing? Talking like that and coming so close to me… don't you feel ashamed at what you just said? Didn't anyone teach you that there should be a proper distance between man and woman? How can you act like a hooligan at such a young age?"

Noah looked at me with a blank face, he acted as if the one I was talking to was not him "Do you think I don't understand anything about man and woman? Just because I am still young doesn't mean I don't know about things.. I was just teasing you.. and was hoping to get some good reactions from you.. and, you didn't disappoint me.."

He smirked and turned around to leave but said once again "Oh.. let me remind you one again.. come down to eat or the food will taste bad.. And don't think too much or you'll fall in love with me, and that is something I don't want so early at my age.."

"what-…" I was about to retort but he just walked out of the room after saying that.. leaving me seething in anger..

'Who do you think you are to say something like that to me? You are just a minion sized human.. how could he be so delusional to think that I'll fall for him! Ha! Dream on..' I continued scolding him in my head while changing my clothes and combing my hair..

After a final look in the mirror, I encouraged myself to face the little creature after what he did and said just a while ago.. I turned off the lights and quickly went downstairs to eat.. I was starving after waking up so early in the morning..

As soon as I alighted the stairs I saw him eating at the dining table that was just beside the living area outside the kitchen..

He sat there with his back straight.. this gave me a feeling of looking at a young prince who was eating his breakfast in his palace.. I was surprised at the sight of him eating.. I was still staring at him when he suddenly looked at me and gestured with his hand towards the seat beside him..

I finally managed to calm down from an almost fangirling session and walked towards him… I quickly sat down and started to take the food in my plate.. the mesmerising sight of the delicious food made my mouth start to water..

I ate the first bite and moaned with delight "Mmm" It was too good.. I felt his burning gaze at me but I ignored him and concentrated on eating…

After a while we were done eating.. I ate too much because the food was too tasty.. "Aahh.. I guess I'll skip lunch today.."

I realized that I said it loudly and looked at Noah, who also happened to look at me after hearing what I just said.. "There's still some food left.. put it in the refrigerator, we can eat it when we feel hungry again.." He said and went to the couch and sat there and started to look at his phone..

I also got up and put all the remaining food inside the refrigerator..

I was about to go to my room to do some studies, when suddenly something came to my mind and I went to the living room and asked Noah "Hey.. Noah.. Now that you are living here from today on, in which school are you going to study? If you haven't decided on a school yet, then you can attend my school.. They teach small kids too.."

Noah looked at with an expression that looked like he was saying 'Who did you say the kid was?'

After looking at me for a few seconds he said "Who said that just because I'm seven I'll attend a class for small kids? You don't have to concern yourself with my studies.. all the arrangements have been made.. you should worry about your studies.. I heard that you were just above average! You need to work hard noona.."

When he said the last sentence he looked at me and raised his right eyebrow and looked at me with a mocking and provocative gaze.. this made my blood boil with anger..

I scoffed and said as I felt annoyed again "Huh.. I am not just above average I'm ranked third in my class.."

"There's no difference to me.. it's all the same until you get the first rank in the school at least.. I'm not even talking about getting a first place in the province.. so, you are just above average to me.." This time he didn't even look at me and said as he kept using his phone..

"Hmph.. Just you wait.. I'll show you when I get the first place in the province this time.." I said and turned around to leave when I heard him say "Deal.. if you manage to get the first place I'll get you one thing that you want.. and if you lose then you'll have to do as I say.."

I thought about it for a few second and said without turning around "It's set then.."

After saying that I left and went straight to my room..

"The net is set.." Noah said in a low voice and smirked..

Only if I'd realized it earlier that I was willingly walking inside the trap set by the hunter..
