7 Seven

"Here." Alice said as we arrived at class.

Currently, it was the 7th class period of the day, and Alice and I had reached our last class of the day. Something to take note of was that all of my classes had at least one Cullen in them but even so, the best of my classes were the three after lunch, I had Alice in all of them.

It should also be mentioned that since lunch despite Alice's cold temperament she had gone out of her way to assist me whenever she could, and obviously walking me from class to class was a way she assisted me but different from the first time we didn't hold hands while doing so.

Don't get me wrong, I wanted to hold hands with the woman but I wouldn't push it, she was the first one to grab my hand before and I didn't want to push my luck by grabbing onto her hand until I knew her more, you don't usually hold hands with someone you met hours ago.

But honestly, it was pretty funny how Alice cared for me so carefully, I almost felt like a child but at the same time I enjoyed the fact that the woman I knew nothing of had me in mind as I did her, I wasn't the only weird one.

Perhaps I was overthinking it and she was only helping me since I was blind because in most scenarios that would be the case and perhaps none of the feelings I had felt since meeting her couldn't be applied to her but I don't want to believe that, that would suck majorly.

'What an eventful first day.' I told myself as my cane tapped the ground as it usually does.

Today was full of unexpected twists, turns, and curves and I loved it. Originally I had a solid amount of knowledge of Twilight and how everything would go but that isn't the case anymore and that alone gave me a thrill, the thrill of the unknown.

"Are you okay?" Alice said from beside me.

"Yeah, I'm fine." I replied with a smile and got a hum from Alice in return.

I hadn't been with Alice long and we hadn't spoken much either but I couldn't help but enjoy her presence, I couldn't see her but I could feel her nearby, I could feel her eyes which were always connected to me, I could feel that behind her passive and cold face was a woman teeming with emotions but had no clue how to express them.

'Heh, what an odd feeling.' I said inwardly, I've been interested in women before but never this intensely, and what made it interesting was that I had only met this woman hours ago.

"Keanu." The teacher Miss Kingsley said as she stood at the side of my table while leaning close to me, too close for comfort.

"Yes?" I replied as I felt Alice's eyes leave me and dart to the teacher.

"Ugh, you can go ahead and leave." Miss Kingsley said as she backed away from me just as soon as she leaned in, she seemed offset by the set of eyes that were burrowing deep into her head, Alice was watching the woman extremely closely.

"Alright." I replied before directing my attention toward the vampire who seemed far too protective of someone she had supposedly just met, but I knew better than that, she most likely had visions of me so it was better to assume that she already knew me and it was me who didn't know her.

"Will you be leading me, little lady?" I asked the vampire who wasn't even pretending to breathe anymore, she was tense due to the teacher's actions.

"Mhm." Alice hummed in response before packing her things up and a few moments later Alice and I could be seen walking down an empty hallway in silence.

"School, do you like it?" Alice said successfully breaking the silence.

"It's entertaining I suppose." I replied truthfully with a smile although it was only interesting because the Cullens were here.

"Mhm..." Alice hummed in response before falling silent again, I could tell she wasn't good at talking with others and that she was putting in effort to talk with me.

"And you? Do you like school?" I asked although I had an inkling as to what her answer would be.

"No." Alice replied promptly which made sense, she wasn't the giddy and excited version of Alice who enjoyed everything and every one, this version of Alice seemed to be the opposite of that.

"Why's that?" I questioned wanting to know more about her, I knew she would most likely give me a blunt response since she wasn't good with words but I was fine with that.

"Too many people." Alice replied just as blunt as expected.

"A good reason, but is that all?" I said wanting to keep our little conversation going as long as I could.

"I don't like people." Alice replied so now I knew she didn't like being around people and she didn't like random people in general, just as a cold woman would.

"Oh? What about me then? We only met a few hours ago so I can assume you don't like me either then, what a pity." I said teasingly as I placed my hand over my heart with a pained expression on my face.

"...I like you." Alice said so quietly that a human couldn't hear while we continued walking but despite her words being quiet I heard them perfectly and they brought a smile to my face.

Although Alice's words didn't confirm that she was feeling the same as me it did confirm that I wasn't a nuisance who she was helping out of pity or anything like that, which made me happy.

"Good evening sir." Layla said as she bowed politely as Alice and I arrived outside.

"Ah! Layla, how have you been?" I said with a smile as Alice watched us both intently.

"I've been well sir, thank you for your consideration." Layla replied before continuing.

"And this is?" Layla said obviously referring to Alice.

"Alice Cullen, a dear friend of mine as well as a pair of eyes." I replied with a smile.

"I see, the daughter of Doctor Cullen." Layla said after a few moments of thought.

"Oh? Your father's a doctor?" I said to Alice, the Cullens didn't tell me about Carlisle or Esme so it was better for me to ask questions like this.

"Mhm." Alice hummed in response as students began to exit the school doors while looking at us oddly, the bell had already rung while we were speaking with Layla.

"Sup fellers." Emmett said as he exited the school with the other Cullens behind him.

"Hola." I replied as I released Alice who looked at me intensely as soon as I did.

"If I may sir." Layla said as she took my hand while ignoring Alice's watchful eye.

"Damn dude, you've got a maid?" Emmett said while the other Cullens waited for my answer.

"I do." I replied before continuing.

"What? Do you expect me to drive myself home?" I said with a smile.

"Haha, yeah, good point, but we can drop you off at home if you want." Emmett said with a friendly tone.

"Maybe some other time, but as of now I've got a ride and need to get home so I'll see you folks tomorrow." I said with a smile.

"Alrighty then, see ya'." Emmett said before the other Cullens said bye as well leaving only Alice who stood silently.

"Thanks for the lift, Alice." I said to the quiet girl.

"Mhm, bye." Alice said with a tone just as cold as she usually was.

With the goodbyes done, I soon got into the car and found myself being driven back home while thinking about the events that had occurred today and eventually, I arrived at home.

"The master and mistress told me to inform you that they won't be back for a few days as something important happened in France that required their immediate attention." Layla said as we walked down the long hallways of the mansion.

"Okay." I replied, I wasn't surprised by Layla's words since I was expecting it.

Although my grandparents are old they still work and their work sometimes requires that they're away which is one of the reasons I wanted to move here, I would have more time alone although the servants were still nearby if I needed them, neither my parents nor grandparents would leave me completely alone.

"Please use the button if you need anything, sir." Layla said as we entered my room.

"Sure thing." I replied as I walked deeper into my room.

With my response, Layla made her exit leaving me alone in my room as I sat on my bed while thinking of Alice, she had been a prominent thought in my mind since lunch.

'I wonder how things will go from here.' I said inwardly as a smile formed on my face while I fell back onto my bed, I was very interested in how everything would play out in this world.

To be continued...
