9 Nine

Author note: Keep in mind this is an Alternate Universe of Twilight, the vampires aren't exactly as you remember them to be in the canon Twilight.

~ Alice Cullen POV ~

'I need to get everything ready for when Keanu arrives.' I told myself as I sat in the back seat of the car while Emmett drove us home.

Currently, school has just ended and my family and I are on our way back home, we were all excited for Keanu to come over so we planned to go home and prepare everything for him when he arrived.

Now although my family weren't bad people they weren't nice to everyone like they were to Keanu, there was a reason he received special treatment despite being human, Keanu is my mate.

Around thirty years ago I had a vision, a vision of me being held by a man, that man was Keanu and ever since then I've had visions of him. I saw his birth, his struggle dealing with his blindness, his true personality that he keeps hidden away behind his calm and polite face, his music career, his love for his family, and a lot more.

My visions were usually like a snippet of the future but when it came to Keanu I could see more, I could watch him longer than I could my other vision and I liked that, it let me know more about him.

A fear of mine was that Keanu wouldn't like me, I knew a lot about Keanu from my visions but he didn't know about me. I wasn't nice, outgoing, extroverted, polite, or all of the other things people liked in girls. I barely spoke as I wasn't good with words, I barely displayed emotion because I wasn't good with them and most of the time I was completely numb to them, I couldn't help it, that's just the way I've always been, that's one of the reasons my biological father put me in the psych ward.

I liked Keanu a lot, far more than I should since technically we had only met last week but nonetheless I liked him. I wanted to be with him all the time, protect him all the time, keep him away from other women all the time, show him how I felt, cuddle with him, hold hands with him, talk with him, read with him, everything with Keanu, I wanted to do everything with Keanu because Keanu made everything better, his presence was everything to me.

I remember the times when my siblings told me all of the details about their feelings for their mates and it was back then that I realized I was different from them. My siblings all had feelings that started with an intense attraction toward their mate and it grew from there but that was because they met their mates, I didn't meet my mate until recently but I did have visions of him before.

When I got my first vision of Keanu I developed an intense interest, I was attracted to him but I was more interested in who Keanu was and that was different from my siblings. My interest in Keanu began to grow with each passing day, and at some point, my interest evolved into infatuation, and then that became an obsession.

Every single day for years I thought of Keanu nonstop, I had fantasies of the man far too many times to count, he was the most dominant thought in my mind ever since my first vision of him and to make sure I never forgot his face during the time I wasn't having visions of him I painted one picture of him every day and mounted them on my bedroom walls in every house we moved to.

'Keanu...' I repeated his name in my mind for the thousandth time since we got into the mind, I was excited for him to come over but I would need to clean up my room since all of the stuff in there would make it hard for Keanu to move around seamlessly.

"Hello my spawn, so, what did Keanu say?" Carlisle asked with a big smile as we all walked into the living room while Esme sat on his lap with a smile as big as her mates.

"He'll be coming over later pop." Edward replied with a smile, he would most likely ask Keanu to play the piano for us later since Edward was a big music guy.

"Good, then clean up time everyone." Esme said as she got up from Carlisle's lap.

This moment marked the beginning of the clean-up session around the house, we all knew Keanu was blind so we prepared for him, we didn't want any accidents happening so we all planned accordingly and soon enough it had been a little over two hours.

"Alice?" Edward said with concern as I dropped the box I had in my hands before the rest of the family appeared to see what was going on, Edward didn't usually speak with the tone he had now.

"She's having a vision." Lynda said calmly as she waited for me to finish my vision.

A few moments later I finished the vision but unlike Lynda's calmness I wasn't calm in the slightest, I had just seen Keanu being impaled by metal rods due to a car crash, my mate was in danger.

Instantly after finishing the vision I ran out of the house as fast as I could before making my down the road where the vision of Keanu crashing was, I recognized the road since it was the one that led to the house.

"Keanu was in a crash." I heard Edward say as I left the house before he and the rest of the family followed me.

BAM!

I heard the sound of something crashing and flipping far down the road causing me to instantly regret my actions from earlier. I had made it my routine to always watch Keanu to make sure he was okay and safe, I even watched him from outside his house while staying around 70 meters away since I knew he could sense me if I was closer which I didn't understand, he was a human and their senses shouldn't be so strong.

Today I was excited though, I decided that just this once I wouldn't watch over him, I would instead prepare for him to come over and it was only for a few hours that I wouldn't watch over him then I would have him in my sight again but now we were here, in front of a crashed car with my mate in it.

In front of me and my family was an 18-wheeler truck that was flipped on its side with the front end completely smashed into the huge tree on the left of the road, the driver was dead but that wasn't what I cared about it was the Rolls Royce that was upside down with the scent of Keanu leaking from it that I was worried about.

Just like the 18-wheeler truck the front of the Rolls Royce was completely crushed so I knew the driver was mostly likely dead and due to my vision, I knew in the back seat Keanu was being held in place by metal rods that had come from the 18 wheeler.

Not slowing my pace I ran toward the car trying to squash the horrible thoughts welling up within me, Keanu was hurt but he wasn't dead and as long as he was alive my venom could save him, no human can survive the damage that had been done so Keanu had to become a vampire now, I wouldn't let him die.

As I sprinted toward the car the sound of something trying to ignite and the smell of gasoline entered my nose, the combination was horrible, the car was about to explode.

"Alice wait!" Carlisle said as he grabbed onto me preventing me from running anymore and just as he did the car Keanu was in exploded.

BOOM!!!

The sound of the car exploding sounded through the forest while the force of it threw Carlisle and me back some.

"NO!" I screamed for the first time in my life as I broke from Carlisle's grip only for Emmett to hold onto me and since Emmett was far stronger than Carlisle, I wouldn't get out of his grasp.

"LET ME GO!" I screamed at Emmett as I clawed at his hands like an animal, Keanu was right there! I was just a few steps away!

"Alice..." Rosalie said softly trying to ease me.

"LET ME FUCKING GO!!!" I screamed again at the top of my lungs as I thrashed around as much as I could to break free from Emmett even though I knew it wouldn't happen.

I continued screaming and thrashing around for around 20 seconds until I fell completely limp with tears streaming down my face, Keanu was human... He couldn't survive that. I was left with nothing now, Keanu was my everything and now my everything was gone all because of my mistake, all because I wasn't there to protect him like I should've been.

"Alice... I-" Esme said with a tone that expressed how sorry and worried she felt for me, every vampire in the world knew that when one's mate died their life was pretty much over, they lost the will to live, but just as Esme was about to continue speaking we all heard a voice come from the

"Shitstained cocksuckers... made me look like fuckin' Wade." Keanu's voice sounded through the environment as we all watched in awe as the vehicle that was just on fire turned into ice before shattering completely and revealing to us all a completely unrecognizable man.

Keanu was burnt to a crisp, missing an arm, a foot, and a hand, half of his stomach was gone and there were holes everywhere through his body, if a child saw him now he would definitely give him nightmares.

"Maybe like Darth Vadar, nah, Freddy Krueger actually." Keanu said as if nothing had happened, like he wasn't just inside an exploding car but what caught everyone's attention more than before was the fact that Keanu was regenerating fast, like extremely fast.

"I should get a better cane, explosion proof stuff is a must nowadays, never know when shit'll pop off." Keanu said as he rummaged through the shattered Ice car looking for his cane which obviously didn't survive the explosion like he had.

"NO! My john! Come back!" Keanu shouted as still regenerating hand swiped over his groin.

"Oh god... no, NO! Why me?!" Keanu said as he fell to the ground dramatically.

It was at this point everyone was at their peak of surprise speechless at what they were seeing, so speechless in fact that the more blood-hungry members of our family weren't affected by the blood in the air, and due to that Emmett's grip around me loosened allowing me to escape and run at Keanu.

"KEANU!" I shouted as I ran at my mate.

"Huh? Oh, hey pookie bear, sorry hun just give me a bit, papa's having a moment." Keanu said as I arrived at his side but I didn't care and wrapped my arms around him before pulling him toward me and holding him tight.

Keanu was alive and that alone caused a massive amount of relief to wash over me, but even so, I was scared something else was going to happen so I held him close, I would protect him properly this time, I wouldn't slip up like this again.
