1 He's the One

What is the meaning of life? Some may say it's to live to the best of one's ability. Others may say to find your other part and live in bliss together, or to die together. Then there's the ones that will live their lives for their country or clan.

So, is this how we all live our lives? Of course not. There is simply too many definitions to live a life, it's simply uncountable. As for how I live my life? Well, I apologize, all I can tell you is that it's a blank because I certainly have no clue.

For the first 18 years of my life, all I did was arduously go to school. As for attracting bees and butterflies? Although I may not be a kingdom-toppling beauty, but with my fair skin, brunette hair, round face, slim body with the curves at the right places, and my sing-song voice, I was considered one at my school. Pesky flies would buzz around me all day, yet I acted the part of the cold queen to keep them away. Why the harsh treatment? It's because of my status.

My father is the CEO of a famous tech company, which have already proliferated into many parts of China. On the other hand, my mother was the shareholder of many different companies of the marketing industry. Although she did not have great control over the decisions of each company, she still had a say. With these two parents and being the only child, it would be hard for me to acknowledge other men that were "below" my status.

Although I may sound arrogant, there isn't much a choice for me. As a daughter who grew up in a well off family that runs business, I was raised with the fact that my future will be decided by my parents, based on their benefits.

Unfair? Sympathy? There's no need. The world simply runs like this. For those that have been given a more comfortable life than others, they will obviously be required to pay the price eventually. Although the price is unknown in most cases because we don't know the future, but in some cases like mine, it's easy to predict because it's pretty much set in stone.

Of course, as I said, we don't know the future. Then, just like that, my unknown future also had untold tales for me.

Once a year when I am on vacation from school, by busy parents that are usually not home will drop their work just for me. Although it's mostly to enforce the rules of my future into me, but I'm still happy that I can spend some quality time with my parents, knowing they at least care about me. Usually, it's just a simple, local trip along with quality time spent at our mansion. Sweet, short, and informative.

As it's my last year of lower div schooling, I had a longer vacation before University starts. Hence, this year, my parents decided to take me overseas to celebrate my coming of age, along with letting me meet my future half.

Once again I must repeat, it's my "future" half, a half that I never even got the chance to meet. On the plane trip there, a sudden unreported storm struck our plane. Although the shaking was unsettling, the pilot did reassure us that everything was fine as the storm will pass soon. Unfortunately, before we escaped the storm, it seems that some giant object has struck us as the plane seemingly shattered in halves.

Although my brain was nearly knocked senseless, I was still able to gather the fact that the howling winds have carried me much further away, like destiny carrying its child. Hence, with a boom I watched as the plane dramatically explode in the distance. Then, I watched as the dark ocean invited me towards its dept for a rest before my consciousness decided to go blank.

Is it supernatural forces at work? Or is it truly fate and destiny? I'm not too sure, but I managed to wake up again. Not in some hospital or bed, but in the arms of him. A tall, handsome man, with smooth, white skin, dressed in a plain white t-shirt soaked in water and blue jeans that wrap around his long legs. He's got that shapely face that can be said to perfect with dark, blue pupils that seemingly devoured my soul. I really wanted to ask how are those eyes that beautiful, but maybe I had imagine it because once I blinked and looked again, those pupil were now black. As my heart quicken with each of his steps, I could not help but think, he's my savior, and he's the one.

I was carried back to what seemed to be a mansion, and the man handed me over to some servants. Later, I was told that I was saved by the young master when he found me adrift in the sea.

I'm currently recuperating on an island at who knows where, but I had no worries because I was told that a helicopter will come in to deliver me back to mainland. Plus, I was hoping to see those beautiful eyes once again, but alas, it seemed the young master had already left the island, leaving me the message "we shall meet again if we are fated".

Regrets you may ask? No, in fact I was glad. Glad that he did not have to see me again. Not long after the man left, I had plenty of time. Hence I went exploring in the mansion. The mansion was not extremely large, but it was a queer fact that there was no mirrors. I was told by the servants that the young master did not like mirrors hence none were installed in the mansion, but the servants still had some for daily uses. I borrowed one and took a look, just to frighten myself because my looks were no longer the smooth appearance as before. Instead, my now rough, textured face consisted of wrinkly, dry skin and sparse hair. Although it was a miracle that I did not die, I was told that my long-term soak in seawater has thoroughly damaged the skin on my body, especially since some parts were infected due to previous injuries caused by metal scraps. Although I was told it could heal in years, I was devastated for I allowed him to see this face. It might be the reason he left so soon.

I did not sink into depression for long though because I know it can be healed with effort. Plus, not long after, I was brought back to mainland. Unfortunately, I now had no identity because all my identifications were lost and my face was no longer recognizable as the old one. When I tried to use my DNA to regain my identity, it was determined that my identity didn't match. When I tried to convince the officers otherwise, they only sneered and showed me the news. Apparently, someone had already inherited my identity, along with all my parents' assets after their death. Although I wanted to deny it, when I saw that person's face, my mind went blank because it was my face, from before.
