MY MOM

SAM POV

"Sam? Samatha!. A shout from my mum cut my dream short.

I slept off when I was talking about my past don't worry we will continue another day if I have the time.

"Sam?". My mum called me.

"Yes mum". I replied her.

"Where have you been?. She asked.

"I have been right here in my room". I lied through my teeth.

"Nah don't lie to me young lady because I was up here not quite long and you were not in".

"I....I". I got stuck I didn't want her to know of me sneaking out of the house. My mom health deteriorate. I was so sad when I saw her withering away month after. And she started drinking alcohol and taking hard drugs to numb her pains.

The drugs she takes gave her a more haggard look, it drain her youth within a short period of time. The was a year when we were paired at school for a project. I brought my classmate Shaina home, and went to the kitchen to get her some refreshments.

"Umm where's your mum?. She asked.

"She is asleep". I replied her.

"Who sleeps at this time of the day or is she sick?

"No she is not sick just stay where you are and I will be right back so that we can round off our project okay? I tried diverting the present topic.

"Okay I will be right here". She replied.

I went to the kitchen and tried reheating the pizza that I bought. While pouring milk into the cups I suddenly heard a scream coming from my mums room.

"Huh mom?. I quickly ran out of the kitchen and went to her room. On getting there I saw Shaina there and she was putting on a I know your secret face on her.

I knew immediately that she caught my mother taking her hard drugs.

"See Shaina it's not what you think". I tried talking to her.

"Your mom is a drug addict?. She asked smiling as if she just hit a jackpot.

Shit I forgot I was dealing with our school radio without battery. Any secret in our school cease to become a secret whenever Shaina gets a wind of it
