Chapter 3

*uhhhh*, man this sucks. Feels like my whole body's been hit by a truck, and I'm having the worse hangover at the same time. I wonder where I am? I mean the world doesn't look so bad, kinda looks like my old one.

Hmmm? White walls and a chemical smell, gotta be a hospital cause no other place smells like this. But why am here? Did that god send me into another person body cause that would be shitty of 'em and then I would have to pretend to know who the are and I'd probably mess that up.

"Alrighty, well Mr. Miller it's time for your bath. Hopefully you'll wake up soon so I can quit doing this".

"hello, are you a doctor"?

Wow does my voice sound horse, how long was I put for my voice to sound like this. Hopefully not long and I can get out of here asap.

"Holy!? COMA PATIENT IS AWAKE! Call the doctors Mr. Miller is awake"!

So I was in a coma huh, well could be worse I guess, if I comas all I got to worry about then that's fine with me. But I'm having a massive headache and I think I'll take a nap if that's alright.

"Mister Miller don't go back to sleep please, we don't want you to slip back into your coma, Mister Miller, Mister Mil….."

And that was the last thing I heard before going back to sleep, hopefully it's not long before I can wake up again.

* a few hours later*

"Ah so glad you could join us, Mr. Miller I'm your Doctor Taylor and the nurse who informed us is nurse Patty. Can you tell me where you are"?

Ah seems I'm awake now, but I got new memories it seems, my name is the same Axel Miller though I'm a a couple years younger at 19, I ran away from home to join the military at 16, lied about my age and had a homeless man pretend to be my parent. Other than that I'll need to think harder about cause it's still a little fuzzy with the coma and everything.

"I'm at a hospital, right? Why"?

"Good, well you were hit by a car coming off the bus, the EMT found your ID in your pocket and told us before you were emitted here".

"And where is here, how long was I out? Does my sergeant know about this?"

"Yes he does we contacted him and he gave you leave, and you're currently at Harrison Memorial Hospital you've been out for about a month."

"A month!? If it was that long my sergeant would never let me take that much time off, or I would be discharged immediately."

That's not what I expected, I was out for a whole month in this world, but yet the military told me it was fine for me to take extended leave. Something not right, I'll need to talk to this sergeant and find out what's wrong.

"Well can I contact him please, it's important."

"You can but first I need you to start walking and being able to get up and about, I want to know if any of your muscles atrophied or not."

I try to stand as she finishes telling me this but the monitors are stopping me so I start to take them off. As I'm doing this they start to beep and go out of control. But I don't stop, the only one I don't take out is the Iv needle strapped to my hand.

As I swing my two feet up and onto the ground, Mrs. Taylor comes over to help but I wave her off. My body doesn't feel tired or in pain, just my throat feels a little dry from no water.

As I stand up I firmly grab onto the IV bad holder and start to walk to the sink were I start to drink from the sink, it's not the best source for water but it was the one available the quickest.

After my little moment, I finally look at my surrounding and notice that the room only has a single bed, with 2 monitors and a bathroom directly in font of the bed. As I go to leave doctor Taylor stands in front of me, trying to get me to lay back down.

"It's great that you can walk around, and if you just asked I would have brought you some water but I need you to go back and lay down."

"Sorry lady, you seem really nice and all but I'm gonna need to leave immediately. Where do I sign out?"

With me saying this I go to push her out of the way and continue to walk out but was stopped again but this time it was by a police officer. He had black curly hair and 5 o'clock shadow with a face you just want to punch repeatedly.

"Hey now, I think the doctors asking you nicely to return back, she just wants to do what's best for you."

"Well I'm fine, so if you would please move I need to leave."

"I don't think you heard me kid, I said back to your bed and I'm not gonna tell you again."

"Ok listen here my name is Staff Sergeant Axel Miller with the United States Army, I was just in a coma for 1 month I need to contact Master Sergeant Bakely to see if I still have my job or not."

Does this dude really think I give a fuck that's he's a cop? He seems like a hard ass too, like why would I want to deal with that.

"Well I understand that but the doctor said that she want to run some more test just to make sure you're ok, if you'd let her I bet she would be much appreciated."

"Well I'm fine so I'd like to leave, and a hospital can't make me so if you're not gonna arrest me then I'll be going now thank you."

He steps out of the way and I continue to walk out of the room, just as I'm about to leave I look across the room and see a man laying on a ventilator he has short hair and a short beard. I look on the door and I read his name….. Richard D. Grimes. Fuck I'm in the Walking Dead, and I don't know when it starts.

I stand frozen for a little bit before I start to move towards reception, trying to think about how I'm gonna get everything I need for the apocalypse. And right as I'm worrying about not having enough time…
