1 Chp.1: The war isn't over yet?

It was a perfect day.

Perfect weather, with the sun shining just right to feel energized to live through the entire day.

The news forecast also gave a green light to go out without any specific things to worry about.

But the weather in the President's office of W&K was just the opposite of what was predicted.

The entire director's board along with the CEO of Robbins Corporation and his team were just feeling as though they were the victims of the great face-off that might happen just once in a blue moon, and that too not in a good sense.

"I wish you a very good morning and welcome you to discuss with us here at W&K headquarters." Said Janice with a forced smile as she was shaking hands with him.

"Yes, the same goes for me as well." Responded Noah with a similar expression.

And that's when things turned more awkward for everyone.

Janice Green and Noah Robbins were nothing like friends, to begin with.

But maybe today destiny wanted to play a cruel game with the employees of W&K and Robbin's corporations.

"So I would love to listen to your proposal about the construction design of the new city center first. Please go ahead.", said Janice as she was sitting down on her chair of CEO.

Noah nodded permitting the presentation head of his team as he was sitting down on the chair beside Janice as the CEO of Robbins Corporation.

The room grew more serious with people from both sides presenting their prepared presentations of the city center.

The room was dark, but the light of the presentation screen illuminated everyone's faces enough to see everyone's expressions. There was a certain chill in the room, that made it harder for everyone to breathe. It was the chill that came from the far end of the room, apparently from both the CEOS. They sat there without even talking to each other.

Noah's secretary, Willow, noticed it and came forward to whisper in Noah's ear.

It was actually very unusual for a boss and secretary to have this close contact, but everyone from the Robbin's Corporation acted as though it was normal. But still, it was uncomfortable for people at the W&K.

And even with the unfavorable atmosphere, the meeting went on without a hitch and everything was finalized regarding the city center.

"It was a great meeting, I hope we continue working like this smoothly on this project." Said Janice to everyone present in the room.

"Also there Is lunch from W&K for everyone, so make sure to have your fill." She added with a warm smile.

Everyone was happy and the long session of awkwardness between both the CEOS came to end too.

They started evacuating the room and Janice had a handshake with Noah and went out of the room too.

"Babe, I don't like Janice Green. Is it a must to work on this project?" said Willow as she slid her hand lightly on Noah's back as she wanted to kiss him.

"You should know your boundaries, Miss Willow. You are just a pawn of my stepmother. So I wish you to take your hands off me.", said Noah with utmost disgust.

He tied his tie properly and brushed off his suit, as he stepped out of the presentation room.

"You are the prize that I was promised, Noah. I will have you and that's for sure." Smirked Willow and stepped out of the room.

"Shit, what did I just see. This is a piece of top-tier information." Janice mumbled to herself who just wanted to come to the room through the back door to get an important file that was left behind.

"This will be a fun game to play." She said to herself.

But there was one more person who saw everything mistakenly too.

Anyways, the lunch went on smoothly and it was time to have a personal meeting of both the CEOS as it was decided.

-----

Janice Green and Noah Robbins were always together in their school days, but there was a huge border that divided their worlds considerably.

Janice, a woman who always came of as a strong and mysterious beauty, was the brains behind the current success of W&K Corporations. Having an impeccable sense of achievement, she was always considered a psycho perfectionist. There were also rumors about her being short-tempered. But still, besides all this, she was respected and looked up to as a respectable and young genius CEO. She had the vision of an eagle and the movements of a viper. And no one could deny her presence, ever due to this side of her personality. But the only thing that always remained as her vulnerable side was, she was an orphan and was adopted by the chairman of W&K at a young age. He wanted to marry her but he couldn't declare his love for her in public. People knew that Janice was just his slave, but they feared to speak anything. And her only motive was to get her freedom from the clutches of the old man.

And on the other hand, Noah was the hotshot, young master of the conglomerate family of the Robbins. He was the same age as Janice but was always treated less by his parents because of his brother. He was as beautiful as a resting tiger and as vicious as a hungry one. Despite everything, he was a brilliant strategist. And that made his father announce him as the CEO despite his will.

Clearly, both of them were a part of two different worlds.

And now it was too late to ever rekindle any kind of relationship. It was just enemies that they could be for each other.

"They certainly look good together." Mumbled an employee to his friend.

"Ahem, will you please excuse us?" said the Chairman's secretary, as they came walking into the lobby after getting off the elevator.

The employees who were certainly terrified made a run out of the situation.

The chairman keenly observed Janice and Noah entering Janice's office for the further part of the project discussion and their secretaries going in along with them.

"Chairman? What should we do?" asked his secretary smartly.

"For now just observe and then attack when the moment is right. Blame everything on his secretary. She is a weapon of his stepmother, Jack Robbins will definitely get a heart attack after he knows about what his bitch did." The chairman slightly whispered as they walked past Janice's office.

"So that's how you want it Mr. Robbins?" asked Janice as she was surfing through some of the blueprints.

"Both of you step out for a moment." Said Noah asking both his and Janice's secretary to leave. They both left.

"Let's make a truce here." Said Noah in an extremely cold voice. Colder than it usually is, even with his stepmother. He had certain malice in his eyes and wish to stab Janice within his movements. But he had to get something else off his table first.

"What truce?" asked Janice as she took her spectacles off.

"I'll give full authority to W&K for the construction of the city center and help me get rid of my stepmother." He proposed with a spark in his eyes and a smirk on his face.

Janice let a sigh out.

"I will never do that. And you know it better." She countered him.

"Ha… hah ha hah ha hah… what?" he started laughing like a psycho. He couldn't even control his laughter at her Hippocratic comment. "Well isn't that your job to eliminate people for the benefit of your loving chairman, huh?" he asked her.

She sat there, unwavering even for a second. Not even a single hint of expression, not happiness, nor sadness. Not regret and nor excitement. Nothing reflected on her face as she sat there with her legs resting on each other.

"What? Now you won't even respond to me? Do you think I forgot how you were a participant to kill my mother for benefit of that old bastard, your husband?" he questioned her with a more evil and destructive intention.

"It was nothing like you think. It was your ex-girlfriend who invited your mom for lunch, I had no hand in it." She calmly put down her spectacles on the table in front.

"What? Seriously? You expect me to believe that?" he had no intentions of stopping with his craziness. It was as if he was almost at the end of his wits.

Janice stood up and walked over to his side of the couch. "There are always answers that you should know before even questioning Noah. You better behave yourself and don't spout nonsense about Mr. Chairman."

"Chairman? Does she call her husband chairman?" he thought to himself for a second.

"Meet me tomorrow morning at 7 o'clock, in the café near your office, I'll give you every answer you need. And that will help clear our relationship. We will have no more threads attached to us." She slightly patted on his shoulders. "Have some coffee and let's end this meeting here." She said as she went to sit down again.

"And I'm glad to have the full authority of this project Mr. Robbins." She said with a wide smile.

"This woman, she didn't change one bit." Thought Noah to himself.

"Well you sure should be glad, but today is too soon. Guess it should be tomorrow morning to be precise." Said Noah with a wide and political smile too.

"This man sure knows his moves. That's what I initially liked about him." Thought Janice to herself.

It was as though Noah could've destructed the whole company but held back only to get something the next morning. He had the gaze of the predator, waiting to pounce on his prey. But he had to refrain for now. And control his anger just for one more day to know everything clearly.

They ended a meeting with an even power balance. Noah left Janice's office and her office felt calm and peaceful again.

"Ah, tomorrow let's clear up everything, everything that I can't hide anymore.", Janice mumbled to herself who sat on her chair and looked out of the big glass window behind her chair.

But maybe destiny had a different story to write at that time.

It soon was evening and Janice packed everything up. It was also time to clock out for her secretaries.

"Goodbye Mr. Evans." She said to her secretary.

And on her way to the elevator, her phone ringed.

She hesitantly picked it up since there was no number that showed up.

"Hello?" she asked as she was distracted to call for an elevator to her floor.

"You shouldn't be so off guard when you have so many enemies Miss Green. You won't even know who stabbed you if you are this vulnerable." Said the voice from the other side and ended the call.

Janice had a calm expression on her face but was growing anxious with every growing second.

"I can't think of anyone else and I don't have any other enemy other than the Robbins." She was thinking the entire time on the elevator.

"Anyways let's eat first and then go home to sleep." She shook off unnecessary thoughts.

"I hope you have a good dinner when you go home sweetheart." A message suddenly dinged her phone. She was disgusted but maintained her expression.

She soon reached the parking area.

She opened the doors to her car and sat inside.

"What have I got myself into? Is it too late to undo just everything? Maybe it is too late to regret now anyways. I have to keep on living like this. I'm feeling sleepy now." She calmly thought to herself as she started the engine.

Soon she was on the highway bridge, driving to reach her home, listening to some calm music, and looking at the city lights as she was driving all by herself.

"Today especially feels lonely. I don't know what it is, but I'm not feeling good." She thought to herself and again focused on the passing by the view.

And suddenly, she couldn't think anymore.

A bright light suddenly came towards her and it was just too late to get out of the car.

It was as though it was set for her to remember the day and either feel much better or much worse.

"This feels a little happier." She said as her car crashed and the airbags came to her face.

But nothing could stop the sharp broken pieces of glass from cutting her face or her soul.

"Should I give up now? Maybe this is the time to give up.

I want to sleep, Maybe I should sleep now. I wanted to say goodbye to No…" she mumbled to herself as her eyes closed by themselves.

It turned out to be a fatal car accident with both the cars getting badly destructed due to failed breaks and both the drivers ending up in the worst situation possible.

"Mr.Noah, are you all right?" she heard some voices coming from a distance.

She opened her eyes slightly. "Is this the voice of sirens? Am I going to the hospital? Where is Noah? Am I thinking of that bastard at the time like this?" she was mumbling to herself but the words faint enough for no one to even know.

Nearby people, doctors and ambulances and police, everyone gathered around, in hurry to save them. "Am I lucky to never live like this again? I feel lucky even if I'm not for now." And she breathed her last breath.
