SPOILERS! SCROLL DOWN AT YOUR OWN RISK! THIS IS A SECOND SOURCE SPOILER BY BTW SO IT MIGHT NOT BE THAT ACCURATE. Okay, so apparently, Ming Shu's like a daughter of heaven in her world (a cultivation world)- or well, she has a very prominent and strong background (was it a princess? I kind of forgot but just know that she used to have an important social status in the cultivation world) that is until she got betrayed by some people (some of her greedy family were one of them). Then, Ming Shu undergo a path for revenge (or something like that) that ends when she managed to kill of everyone who betrayed her (?) Then, she somehow got prisoned in this tower where some strong criminals who committed some huge crimes are thrown. No one can get out of it ('cause it's like sealed or in another space or something) but there were times when the tower's defenses weakens and it was at those times that the prisoners slipped out of the tower. And then, somehow, Ming Shu made a deal with the tower's conciousness (?) and she's being let out in exchange for chasing down and capturing those escaped prisoners. Also, the reason why Ming Shu is quite a foodie is because the food is actually her source of energy. And the spirit beast with her, that little foodie, is the "source of life" (from MTL) that provides Ming Shu power and basically made her unkillable hahaha
She was a Princess. The spoiled Princess. She behaved in a spoiled way and likes to act cute. But she truly cared for her country. She wanted to save everyone from the demons. But then she was sacrificed as the host for the 'Demon King' and thrown into an abyss. She had no knowledge of it. Everyone thought she was dead. But she was alive. Everyday, she would say, "My name is Ming Shu, and I want to get out of here," so she won't forget her name and what she wanted to do. She was scared that she would forget how to talk. She was around 12-14š One day, she heard a voice. It said it can help her get out and go back to her family. She didn't accept its offer and stayed there for a long time. Until she finally accepted. When she got out, years have passed, only her appearance remained the same. She had a younger brother that was born after she 'died'. She told her family and they reunited. However, the leader of that country instigated the people. They think she was evil. A lot happened. Her family was captured, her parents, younger brother, and her Brother Xu, everyone from the Ming family. Young and kind Ming Shu begged to let them go. They promised to let them go if they let them capture her. Ming Shu agreed, because she loves her family. After they tied her, they broke their promise and made her watch as they killed every single one from the Ming family. After that, they threw her in the abyss once again. After that, she found out that the voicw inside her was from her world's spirit. It's the little beastie. It came out of her and it gave her powers. Because of this, she can't die. Forever. She will live until the end of everything. She got her revenge after that. But no one ever knew of the Ming family again. They only know that the Princess Shuyan caused the Ming Family to fall. Ming Shu was detained in the Apocalypse Tower after her revenge. Then the tower made a deal with her. She got released, and she lived in a castle alone. But Ming Shu still being Ming Shu, she brought home every species that can talk, even a ghost, because she said the castle was too quiet. In the future, Qi Yu would become the only existence that can kill her. Everytime she touched him, the aura protecting her will have no effect, and she will burn slowly. Here's what she said, "When I wanted to die, God never let me die. Now that I want to live, you want to kill me." Anyway, Qi Yu got rid of his powers and chose to live with Ming Shu after that. But Ming Shu only told him that she would live forever, and that she can't accompany him to die.
I feel like maybe if we understood where Ming Shu came from and what her background story is, we'll be able to understand why she acts like this. Appearing to be uncaring for others except food. Still, it's sad to see her be surrounded by those that stick to her for their own goals. The ML stays with her for his own task, the two guards stay with her because they were assigned to the original host, and maybe the beastie might be the only character that stayed with her through his own means (seemingly against his will but who knows XD) Anyway, thanks for coming to my ted talk. I made this because I can't wait until the next chapter aand I need something to distract myself.
