Thunder said he'd be back on track by around the 11th. As far as I'm concerned he kept that promise and sent out 4 whole chapters. He's doing his best to make up for the past few weeks and for that I'm thankful. Thanks for the chapters and looking forward to many more releases!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So many arguments for why Thunder is great and how readers should be grateful for translation! First of all, when a freelancer takes on a project (no matter the industry: IT, software, consulting, accounting, oil & gas, etc) makes a commitment to see it through, as that is the reason for him getting paid. Second, customers have a right to get what they’re buying - while the seller has the obligation to deliver what he promises. This principle is law in any country and all treaties worldwide. Now, we as readers, are paying for this “project” (translation), so we have the expectation and the right to get what we’re paying. Now, when someone says we should “be grateful the translator hadn’t dropped the novel”, my reply is this: when you pay for something, are you grateful the seller is still making the product? By this logic, I should bow to my internet provider for not closing shop, I should kiss Netflix’s a$$ for not canceling their services, I should thank car manufacturers for producing spare parts for my car, and so on. By this logic, my employer should kiss my a$$ for my magnanimity to come to work every day. So, stfu with these nonsense excuses for unreliable and shameless translator, who made the novel paywall a few days after promisingly will be free, who kept asking for votes even when he didn’t released chapters as per the schedule he promised and so on. It’s common sense to keep up your promise, but shameless people just keep up with their excuses.
