I dont think main charecter is stupid, all around him the world is going to hell shits being destroyed the tunnels are shaking lighting killing people he jumped at the closes chance of survival instead of taking a risk and dying i the process.

instead of becoming an immortal, this guy decides to become a human again for no other reason except the path was the closest to him. 11/10 decision right there bois

Of course. God forbid we have a story where something like this doesn't happen. I kinda feel like a story about a guy reborn as a heavenly being and making his way through the ranks would've been more interesting. But whatever, moral re-incarnation where he keeps his memories it is.

I don't think he was stupid at all. Soul destroying lightning was falling all around and the deva gate was the furthest away from him. If he were to go for it, it's likely that his soul would had been destroyed. So the smartest choice is to the closest one that isn't that bad.

the guy died and is worried about not being himself ?! If I had to go to a place where I still don't know anything in a different world, why would I want my memories of the past? it would only prevent me from moving forward.
