I wonder if the 2nd ability is like mirror move, and can reflect damage or something fired at him back at the opponent with in thoughs few seconds. And Old tang is out like I thought, so hows he going to get the update on his next sal and the stuff he needs to prepare for it.

The second move should be something like elemental stripping his spirit grasped during it's mutation. It could also be reflection and or removing binding / restriction / sealing affects
