We still know only very little about land spirits. For one why do they exist? Or what decides it's shape? and why are they always in such weird forms and why we haven't seen any one human looking land spirit.What does a rank 9 heavenly spirit look like? If someone's soul meets his land spirit for would that go? So many questions.

Actually Lang ya is a hairyman so why does his land spirit look like a human? Besides I think we can all accept him as an exception among land spirits given his dual nature and star form was basically a floating shota.

HumbleDaoist:Lang Ya land spirit looks like a human though. The Star Form Blessed Land Spirit looked human, just a human child. There may have been other examples but I can't remember them right now.

It seems to me that it is more Fang Yuan's style to secretly send Meng Qiu Zhen to Spectral Heaven to consume these Heaven Path dream realms. The fact that he did it so openly makes it seem like a ploy to me.
