Gu Zhen Ren
Heh, true love... Yeah, that ain't ever happening, lol. I'm guessing he'll just use a loophole again as usual to get around that problem, or use some form of blackmail xD As for this mysterious woman he was thinking of... That felt very out of character, lol. But even if he really does have lingering feelings to this mystery woman, I feel like it's just a set up to eventually show Fang Yuan cutting away every last bit of his attachment to his old life. I would be very surprised if it actually develops into something...
"If we are talking about true love⌠why am I thinking of her?" Fang Yuan's fingers which were holding the railing exerted force unknowingly. This is a key line. This means that what he had back then wasn't "true love." She had most likely betrayed FY at some point and didn't just die. Although they can spin it in a way where she was forced to betray him to make her more sympathetic. There's also the off-chance that she's just a horrible person and 'forced' FY to love her or something.
Not mentioning the other parts, just requiring Fang Yuan to be truly in love with a certain woman was a near impossible matter. âIf this was in my previous life, I would be able to fulfill it. But nowâŚâ Fang Yuan took a few steps and stopped at the stone bridge, he rested on the railing and looked at the jade lake below the bridge, laughing coldly. Let's be honest here, if he actually fell in love for real, I and many others would drop this novel. It would ruin the entire basic structure and idea of this novel. True love has no place here. Now, a relationship of him using a girl who loves him, that's another thing altogether, that's fine. But he can never be allowed to actually truly love a girl for real. At most it could be him getting over some love in his past life.
