Hmm, the whole hope thing feels a bit cringeworthy, but I'll accept it even if it sounds like something you'd find in a children's shounen manga, the author probably has some nice plans for it, better not judge too early. I wonder how far the mc reached in his last life, clearly it must've been pretty high since he cultivated something like that gu that let him travel back in life and how he supposedly was feared by everyone around him to the point where they didn't dare to take the initiative to attack him when he stood at that rock or whatever for several hours before dying. He also clearly has a lot of knowledge, so surely he was pretty powerful, but to what extent...
