Second Eye
Ugh, he constructs law around him at the center which will make harder and harder to maintain it later on. His potential death will spur total chaos and something similar to Chinese warring state period because he alone has too much power and no one can replace him, ever, succession will be impossible. "Every citizen has the right to seek protection of life, security and personal properties from Roland Wimbledon" - this and first one made me cringe, he defined himself as country, it's legislation suicide. Some chapters ago I thought that he will go with healthy meritocracy (with more people and good anti-corruption system it would be the best option), constitution (absolutely no one above law and absolutely without mentioning any specific person here, only functions which are clearly defined and best case scenario chosen based on meritocracy with fail-safe mechanism of cancellation position by referendum at any time) and democracy for everything else involving groups to 500 people (it's not magic number, it's psychology proven, democracy efficiency works best at lower number of people and degrades drastically as it goes up). As it goes, realistically, it should blow up in his face.
as a place that has severe snow fall during the months of demons (which i assume is winter i mean it has to be) is it a statement of how its never going to be like that again ?.. So Roland did decide to change the name when it becames a city, boarder city was probably to obvious, Neverwinter.... i like it
