This is the first i encounter a protagonist who thought about both sides. Usually, they only want the other party who condemned by others to be on power not thinking the consequences or the effect of it to the other part.

It was even hinted to him by the knight, Brian, but nooo! The MC had to fish for troubles and correct him, snitching the witch out. But I guess there would be no immediate conflict with the church that way, losing the interest of the war-focused readers...

I love the way Roland's mind works... Although, it may seem *****, but seeing him being able yo put it to action with meticulous planning, also makes you want to believe that everything is possible...
