Er Gen
The journey is finally over. Also its quite interesting to connect RI at the end with PoT. Actually, the feng shui compass of Xuan Xhang is the supreme artifact mentioned in the end of RI and the 7th reversed white pearl is the Heaven Defying Bead! Wow! Again, thank you Mogumoguchan for the great translations throughout the years :)
Wow. What a journey. What an ending. This book was simply fantastic. A life full of tragedy finds peace by living in the past. I honestly shed a tear reading this final chapter. It was such a fitting end. Haven’t read RI yet, but I have to say that this book is triumphs over ISSTH and AWE. This is definitely one of the hidden gems on this site. I remember reading this 2 years ago, and now it’s finally complete. This will always be one of my favorite reads.
Got to say I agree with Er Gen insofar as his writing has improved a lot since RI. The ending was multitudes better and I really enjoyed something other than the usual MC reincarnates everyone and they all live happily ever after stories. I haven’t finished reading ISSTH yet; I wanted to read them in order, but I’m hopeful that Er Gen was right and the next ending will be even better.
Those who thought this novel suck, just like people has different path of Dao. Just like we discuss which Dao is the correct path. My Dao of this novel just that a correct path among many Daos. The path we walk to pursuit our Dao always right, other might be or not be right, only when we crossed path then we could prove whose Dao are the correct one. I do believed Ergan’s Dao was the correct Dao so far, especially in this millennium in our mortal world, Ergan’s eased huge portion of my boredom. I’ll also seek Ergan’s Dao to complete my Dao and if the vortex needed to create the path for my reading Dao, Mogumoguchan is certainly that vortex.
This was a bittersweet ending, it was as if the main character was not allowed to have true happiness so this was all that was allowed to him. He does not become a supreme being, or the strongest, but he has truly accomplished what he set out to do, and that was to have his loved ones live a fulfilling life, even if he was not there to share it with them... this ending hit me quite hard, thank you for this book, Er Gen.
Just like any of Er Gen's work. I like this novel. Though I disagree with the Dao the MC choose. What's the point of cultivation? What's the point of living? Why do we strive to be the strongest? In the end, he became the strongest but he became a mindless piece of flesh. Why spend countless of years to find them? If you are the strongest, can't you just revive the butterfly? Reverse the time? Then revive them from there? But the biggest point is why revive them if you aren't there? They already reincarnated. They won't remember the past. MC revived them because he missed them but he wasn't even there in the end. What's the point? A lot of stuffs missed: Why Xuan Zang ask for offering? What's the point of that if he is almost dying? Why the Crane is the Reversed Spirit? If the Crane is the Reversed Spirit then why absorb the butterfly? Since it was mentioned at the start that Xuan is after the Reversed Spirit. Or does that mean all the other butterflies have a Crane? What's the point of sending those Legacies to the world that do/doesn't exist? If he can open that vortex, why can't he just open it again when he is in Boundless Realm?
