My name is Valeria Carvajal, and this is my list of the seven reasons not to love anyone, which I hope will not change in the future.

September 12

"Okay, did you see the boy who just passed by?" Julia spoke.

"No, I didn't see it," she answered seriously.

"Put down that book and pay attention to me." She slapped the flap of the book she was reading.

She is my friend Julia. She is very fussy when it comes to boys. She may seem silly, but she's actually saner than me.

"Just let me read," I grumbled without looking at her.

"No, it's not fun to watch guys if someone doesn't give me their opinion."

I was trying to read the novel that aunt gave me this morning, but apparently I'm going to have to postpone reading. I put my book aside and crossed my legs.

"Well, if you want my opinion ... That one is small, that blond, that skinny, that one looks like a mushroom and that ..." I grimaced

"That's a dog," Julia exclaimed angrily.

"Ah, right" I threw myself back, falling into the wet grass. "You know ...?"

-What? Julia leaned back as I did.

"The dog was the cutest of all," I laughed. Julia hit me in the stomach, making me sit up.

"Okay, this is serious." How come you've never fallen in love with someone? Julia sat next to me and brushed the grass from her hair. I was rubbing the place where she had hit me earlier while she glared at her.

"Because I think it's a waste of time." That is, having a boyfriend or a person that you like is not worth it. Just think; you will be all day aware of what he is doing, if he is with another, if he thinks about you and other silly things.

—It may be true, but you have to see the good part of the matter: you will have affection, love, you will have someone to protect you.

"I think there are more bad kinks than good in a relationship, honestly."

As we continued to talk about the boys, we were interrupted by the entrance bell.

"Come on." Julia stood up and held out her hand.

"I'm coming." I took her hand and stood up. We both walked to the living room.

When we got to him, we each sat in his place and waited for the teacher to arrive.

We waited for fifteen minutes and he did not arrive. As the teacher was not present, each one was on his side. I went to Julia's side. It was just the two of us since all the others were with their respective boyfriends or in a small group.

Right in front of us there was a couple kissing. I looked at them disgusted, it was as if they were going to eat each other.

"It seems your eyes are going to pop out, girl." I looked reluctantly at Julia, who was laughing when she saw my face.

-Hopefully. I don't want to see this in the morning. ”I sat down on the stall and grabbed my backpack.

"It's not that bad." How can you stand seeing Josh and me, then?

"Because you're my friend and also because you make me go to all her dates."

"Well, if I didn't get you out, who was going to do it?" She just lifted her shoulders and looked at her cell phone.

"Who are you talking to?"

"With Josh," she replied with a smile. Better not disturb. I put my backpack on the counter and opened it. I started looking in it and was scared when I couldn't find my aunt's book.

—Julia. Hey, Julia. I probed her arm hard.

"Ow!" What? She put the cell phone aside and groped her arm.

"Do you know where the book is?"

-What book?

"The book she was reading this morning, where is it?" I started rummaging through her backpack.

-I do not know. Hey, get your hands out of my bag - she pushed me aside and took my backpack from me.

"My aunt is going to kill me if I lose it." I got up from the seat and started looking around the room for him.

Nobody paid attention to me as they were worried about their own things.

"Ah, hey." Remember when we were under the tree. Looks like you left it there, ”my friend said.

"Right." I crept toward the exit so I could get to the entrance and out into the courtyard.

I was barely able to sneak away as the teacher arrived just as I was leaving. Julia told him that I had to go to the bathroom urgently because of women's problems. It might be gross, but at least it works.

I ran up to the tree quickly. When we arrived, the book was still there.

"Goodness."

I sighed in relief and knelt down to pick it up. When I was going to take it, a hand beat me and I took it first.

My gaze followed the book as it climbed up the stranger's arm, until I could see his face.

"Hey, that's my book." I got up and shook my skirt. Can you pass it to me? "I tried to take the book but the boy hid it behind his back." What are you doing? That book is mine.

"Well, since I picked it up, now it's mine," the boy spoke. When I looked at him, I looked directly at his hair. It was all messy with some branches and leaves between the strands of his reddish hair.

"What happened to your hair?" I made a face and without realizing it, I began to remove the leaves a little. I was desperate to see his hair so tousled.

"I just came down from the tree," he laughed.

"From this tree?" I pointed my finger at the big tree. Look up and I assimilated the height. "The fall must have hurt.

"I didn't fall." I wanted to get off to pick up the book.

"Can you give it to me, please?" I held out my hand for him to hand it over to me.

While I was waiting for him to do so, I heard my friend's voice in the distance.

-Voucher! Valeria! I turned to see her. She came running with her hand up.

She quickly came to my side along with the boy. She paused for a moment to rest and then she looked at me, then at the boy. She shot me a "Who is he?" Look. I just shrugged.

-What happened? Why are you running = - I said resting my hand on her back.

"Ah, that." It is that the teacher said that he came to look for you to see if you felt well.

"Ah." I'll be right away, wait for me a moment. ”I turned to the red-haired boy and extended my hand again. Can you pass it to me, please?

"Of course, but whenever I want." She brought the book to the edge of his mouth and laughed.

"But I need it."

"Okay, let's go." Julia quickly tugged at my arm and led us to the entrance.

"Julia, let me go." I need the book. My aunt is going to kill me if I don't wear it.

"No, you don't need it now, do you?" We stopped and she stared at me. She raised an eyebrow.

-No but...

"No buts." She slapped my forehead. This is one of the only opportunities for you to talk to a guy.

"Ow!" -I complained. I touched my forehead. "But the book I don't know if she's going to do something to him.

"You'll have it, but later." Look, if you had received the novel now, you would never have spoken to the red-haired boy again.

"Well, that's a better reason to go looking for him." I headed back to the exit to do so, but Julia stopped me. Why don't you want me to go? I asked frustrated.

"Because I want you to be social with some guy."

"Well, I don't want to." I let go of her grip.

"I think you are afraid of falling in love," she said and put her hands on her waist.

-Fear? Me? To fall in love? I asked indignantly. I am not afraid to fall in love, I only prevent a catastrophe, since there are many reasons why-

"Yes, yes, there are reasons why you shouldn't fall in love." Julia rolled her eyes and saw me again. That is always your excuse.

"But it's true." This time I put my hands on my waist.

"Well then, make me a detailed list to see what those reasons are." She raised her chin in defiance.

"Okay, it's easy," I replied, narrowing my eyes. Instead, she opened hers wide and laughed.

"She was joking." But if you want, you can only do it if you don't fall in love at the end of it or else, the consequences of losing against me are going to be terrible.

"Not that it's a competition, but that's easy."

"And also," she continued with a smile.

-What?

"You can only do it, if you spend time with that red-haired boy." He formed a sinister smile on her face.

I looked at her with a disgusted face. I didn't want to spend time with a boy who thought he was a monkey. I wasn't going to climb through the trees just to follow him.

"Well then, deal done?" She - she extended her hand without removing that smile from her face.

I was hesitant to shake her since she didn't want to be involved with that boy.

"Okay, okay." What can you lose?

That's true. I took a deep breath and sighed in resignation.

"Okay," I shook her hand, making her lips curve even more.

It's time to make the list ...

Note to self: always look at the trees from now on. A cute boy can fall on you.
