CHAPTER 1: KIA

It was pouring with rain.

Winter had just arrived in Seoul and the cold was almost polar.

I was sitting on the sofa in my home, now empty, looking out the window, sipping a good cup of hot tea, as I thought about the next step to take to get my shattered life back on its feet.

For about a month I had been single again and like all my plans for the future, my heart was also shattered.

My ex, Kyle, a Californian transplanted to Korea, had been sent from his company back to his home in the United States, thanks to a promotion.

We didn't live together because of his choice: he said we had different habits and that we needed our spaces.

The morning after we spent the night together, I woke up to find a fucking message, with which he gave me the well-served.

"I got the promotion I was dreaming of .. I went back to the States .. I'm sorry .. Goodbye!"

He was the classic haughty, vain and haughty American boy; what he could get anything he wanted, including me.

Once he reached his goal, he abandoned me with great ease, returning me to the state of despair I was in before I met him.

I had been captivated by his smile, his bravado and his muscles; I was completely canceled and then downloaded .. what an idiot!

Luckily, I still had my refuge, the place where the real Kia could come out without prejudice, the only thing that still made me happy: my cozy little coffee shop.

My thoughts were interrupted by the annoying sound of a notification; I got up and went to open it puffing
