Last Second Rescue

March arrived back at the space station after being teleported for the tenth time just today. After walking through the decontamination chamber.

"Thank you for your hard work! Here is some coffee."

"Thanks Lili! You are an angel!"

Waiting for him just after the chamber was Liliana, his coworker and girlfriend. Seeing that he had arrived safely, she smiled at him and offered him a coffee she had prepared.

It's been two days since the two started officially dating but because of all the calls from his work he barely had any time to spend time with her. March felt a bit guilty but both of them knew things would continue like this at least for the next few months while the project was in it's active phase.

The two walked side by side holding hands, not bothering to hide their relationship, until March arrived in front of the changing room.

"Do you want to come in?"

"Hahaha! You perv! Go take a bath!"

"Right away, ma'am!"

March pulled her in for a kiss when his communicator biped a high sound and someone started talking through it right away.

[March! Emergency! A fool activated the self destruction mechanism on his base and is planning to suicide!]

March cursed in his head the damn c***blocker and tried to ignore him but Liliana, who was able to hear everything due to how close they were, pushed him away.

"Hero, they are calling you again."

"It's a pain to be this popular..."

"Right! Right! Now my popular Hero, you better go right away!"

"I don't want to..."

Seeing he acting spoiled, Liliana made a devilish smile and pinched his ear.

"Go! And once you come back I will have a surprise for you."

"Owowowowow!! Right! I'm going! I'm going! Now let it go!"

Leaving Liliana behind, March sprinted quickly back to the teleporter.

[March! This is serious! It will explode in 90 seconds! You are the only one available! I know you just come back and should be taking a bath but I don't care if you go wet and naked! Go now! Our bonuses are depending on it!]

"Yeah, yeah, it's all about money to you! Fuck! I'm already going! Open the decontamination chamber and prepare the teleporter for me! I will be there in 30!"

[Got it! Don't forget the shield!]

"I know mom!"

[I'm a man!]

"Of course you are, mom!"

Hearing the indignant tone of his support through the communicator, March smirked but didn't slow down, arriving back at the chamber while dodging the crew members in the way.

[60 seconds left! The teleporter will take 20 seconds to take you down, so-]

"I know! Anything else I should take notice?"

[It seems like another player is also there.]

"Fuck!"

[If you have to choose-]

"Save the closest! I know!"

After passing the chamber, March passed his card on the card reader near the equipment storage door, opening it.

"Shield generator.... Shield generator.... HERE!"

[40 seconds!]

"Mom, start the teleporter in 10!"

[Okay!]

Taking the package with one hand, March quickly turned back and ran to the next room. The door was already closing but it was still not enough to lock him out, so he side stepped through it and charged to the big tube that was accumulating light.

"Oh! Almost forgot!"

Before entering the tube, he grabbed one of the two bracers on the side table as it would enable him to teleport back after the job was over. Without it, he would have to request another person to come take him back.

"Let's go!"

Jumping on the tube on the exact moment it completed it's charging, the light flashed through the room and when it disappeared he was also gone from there.

Zash! A light flashed above Jaylee's HQ as March completed his teleport.

[10 seconds!]

March looked around but saw nobody in the deep of the night.

"Where are they!?"

[Below you!]

"Fuck!"

March jumped down at the same moment Jaylee said his last words, activating the shield while still on his way down.

"See you in hell, mother fucker!"

Rose saw something dropping from above and thought it was Jaylee's ambush troops again, so she embraced Apollo, pulling him close to her, using her body as a shield to protect his life. At the same time, the other girls who were also behind her also tried to move in at once, but they barely had time to take a single step.

A white bubble expanded around the falling March, covering everything it touched in some odd white foam. In the blink of an eye the whole place was white but nobody had any time to understand what was going on multiple explosions occurred simultaneously in the different buildings around them, throwing head, dust and everything else flying in a chaotic manner all around them.

The white foam reflected the flying wreckage, sending them back to where they come from and because it was now covering Jaylee, Apollo and the girls, it ended up protecting them from the explosion as well.

When the explosions were over the foam that had been created stood still at the same place, everybody had been protected but out of the 7 buildings around them, not even one stood in place.

(Deactivate!)

Pressing a bottom on his shield generator, the while bubble slowly shrunk until it disappeared, taking the magic foam with it, making the girls who were running toward Apollo and had been held in place by the foam to all fall on the ground.

March looked around but everything was completely dark, as the little bits of light that were there now had been destroyed by the explosions that just took place, so he clicked on his bracer to make it lit up like a lantern and was quite surprised to see a familiar face.

"You again! Damn! You really don't take a rest, do you! Look how much work you are giving me!"

"Eh? Hmm..."

Apollo was so surprised that he didn't know how to respond. His heart was beating so fast he was in danger of having a heart attack and his mind still made no sense of what had just happened as it all happened in the blink of an eye.

[March, your target is the other one!]

"Oh, all right... Cough! Cough! Well, you escaped this time, but you better behave yourself!"

[March, just stop, that's pathetic!]

"Shut up mom!"

Feeling the blood rise on his face, March turned around and grabbed Jaylee by the neck.

"Game over for you, troublemaker! Up we go!"

"Let me go! Let me-"

Zhhh!!!!!!

Apollo looked confused at the place the two people had just disappeared, but as his head finally got out of the endless "eh?" loop and resumed working he understood it was finally over....well, at least the battle over here...

"Haaaa~~~~ Thanks..."

Sighing out loud, Apollo patted Rose's back and gave her a kiss in the forehead before trying to push her away, but as he tried to do so, he noticed she wouldn't budge a single inch, quite the opposite, she would hold him with even higher strength.

"Hey, Rose. It's over. You can let go now."

"..."

"Rose? Hello? Apollo to Rose, anyone home??"

"..."

"Roooooose? Wake up! Are you okay!?"

"..."

Seeing the exchange between the two and Rose's bright red ears, the girls behind Apollo made different faces but in the end they all brushed off the dust and walked away.

"Hey girls! Help me out here! Rose is not answering me anymore!"

"..."

"Hey! Anyone there!?"

"..."

"Hello? Girls???"

Give up man, after your last attack, she will never let you go.
