Hime's solo mission

Hime ran through the forest in silent steps leaving only a trail of blowing wind behind. Her labored breathing indicated that her stamina was reaching it's limits. Hime felt frustrated as she knew in a normal situation she would never get tired from such a light exercise.

(It was all Jaylee's fault! Damn that betrayer Jaylee! Had his servants not ambushed us with poisoned arrows I would never have to experience such a pain! Now, not only I'm prohibited from participating in the coming battle, but this proud maid has been forced to be demoted into a lowly thief! Gahhh!!!! This is so frustrating!!!!)

"Gahhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Hime's frustration only increased as she distanced herself more and more from the battlefield where her Master was leading her sisters, forcing her to vent out by screaming incoherent things while tensing up her fists to the point of bleeding.

Even so, Hime didn't stop or slowed down a single bit. Master's orders were absolute. It didn't matter if they made no sense, as long as Master said it, they were the only thing that mattered.

(What good would make throwing an egg on the Oni's Master??? Would the humiliation make him stop the attack??? Of course not! If anything, he would attack even more relentlessly! But since these are Master's orders, I have to accomplish it no matter what!)

Suppressing her doubts with all her will power, Hime arrived at her first objective. This was the place where the Boars who attacked Apollo's base originated from, a deep cave in the middle of the forest where they made their nest.

The artificial cave was ridiculous huge, allowing the elephant sized boars to live inside it and use it as their nests. As Hime arrived at it's entrance, Hime was surprised to discover not a complete dark cave as she expected, but one with plenty of light, provided by luminous fungus that grew all over the cave walls.

"Do they plant those things!? Whatever! Now, how do I get those eggs?"

With your hands, of course... oh, that's not what you mean?

Instead of entering the cave, Hime put her hands on the grass and started to concentrate herself as her senses were shared between the plants around her. Slowly, like a sonar spreading in the water, Hime used her power to make a map of the cave and understand the situation inside, but the more she saw, the whiter her face become.

"No, really, how the hell am I supposed to do this!? There are over a hundred boars inside! This is not a nest, this is a fortress!!! Even if I enter, on the moment they notice me there is no way I'm getting out alive! How the hell did Yuu do it!?"

Hime never gave too much credit to Yuu since she joined the camp, if anything, she even looked down on her because of how naive she appeared to be, but now Hime was forced to reevaluate her, after all, entering this fortress like cave and stealing an egg was not something anybody could easily do.

Truth be told the egg stolen by Yuu's old camp was not in a cave, but in an open field nest and the one who stole it was not Yuu but a group of her sisters instead, so Hime was now giving credit to the wrong people, but there was nobody here with the knowledge to correct her so...

"Ugh! No matter how I think about it, going inside is suicide! If only those eggs were living beings I could bait it out but.... Oh!!!! That's it!!! I just have to make them get out!"

Those boars were not normal boars, they were servant prototypes, which means they have relatively high intelligence. This means that as long as something wrong happens to the cave, they will act on their own, evacuating to a safer location. Now, as for how to make something go wrong with the cave....

Hime started concentrating, spreading her senses through the many roots located around the cave again. Then, activating her power, those roots started growing at a visible rate, slowly breaking into the cave walls.

As the boars saw thousands of tentacles sprouting from all sides the cave's walls no words could describe the scare they felt. Plenty of them fainted on the spot, while others evacuated without caring about the eggs, only the bravest ones remembered to take their eggs with them.

Feeling the earth tremble due to the approaching boars, Hime hid herself on the side of the cave's entrance and waited patiently, observing the situation through the roots that now covered the cave's walls.

Once all awakened boars were gone, she quickly sneaked inside the cave and snatched one of their eggs, departing just as quickly without being seen by anyone.

"Hahahahaha! Take that! I rock! I can also do it if I try! Alyssa would be proud! Hahahahaha!"
