22 Having my baby

Kaili was so unprepared, for a few seconds, she still had difficulty realizing what had just happened. She was still frozen while Dexter continued to kiss her. At first, the kiss was slow and gentle, unfortunately, the seconds passed, Dexter lost control and it continued until he felt that Kaili was having trouble breathing, Dexter released their kiss while clenching his fists.

Kaili still had a hard time digesting what she had just experienced. Those shining green jade-like eyes stared in surprise at Dexter.

Dexter took a deep breath and exhaled slowly. He didn't care of the shocked expressions along with the emotions showing on the faces of Kaili's parents. Dexter spoke elegantly, still with a face that was hard to read.

"Dear my lovely wife, please tell your parents. Do you agree with our divorce?"

 "Ugh ..." Kaili bit her lower lip. She still didn't understand what Dexter meant. Did her husband, the man she loved, want to maintain their marriage?

Kaili's eyes looked expectantly at Dexter. Unfortunately there was no expression on the man apart from a calm face, which was like water without rippling. Her hope disappeared.

 Even so, Kaili gave an answer according to her heart. For God's sake, this was what had been stored in her heart all this time. "Papa ... Mama ... Kaili loves Dexter ..."

 3 words. Those three words succeeded in making Dexter reflexively turn to Kaili, as if he wanted to find the truth of the words he had just heard. Unfortunately, it was too hard to tell from Kaili's glowing eyes because right now the woman was looking down while playing with her long fingernails.

 "Kaili ... Stop your nonsense! Since when did you create lies like this, huh? Are you being threatened?" shrieked Stella.

 "Mama...! You won't understand, ma."

"DON'T GO OVERBROAD!" Stella spoke up.

 "Well, I think today's conversation is over. I still have something to do. You guys enjoy your time here!"

After saying so, Dexter immediately left.

 "Believe it or not, I could make you lose your job today!" threatened Richard Goh in a calm but terrifying voice.

 Kaili who heard that turned pale.

"Papa—"

"Just do what you want to do, Mr. Goh! No one will stop you."

"Huh ... You're so arrogant," Stella added.

"If you lose your job, how can you feed my daughter? She has never lacked anything in her whole life! Are you going to make her die living with you?"

The corners of Dexter's lips lifted upward arrogantly. "About that ... don't husbands and wives have to face everything that happens together. Including when they can't even buy a slice of bread. Am I right, honey? That's a wedding promise that you said on the altar with me!"

But Dexter didn't even look at Kaili when saying those words.

 Dexter could feel, there was no rejection or approval of Kaili from the kiss they were doing. That made him a little upset! Didn't this woman know I'm defending her? thought Dexter.

Shit! Kaili always succeeded in making him give up. He wanted this woman now, but Dexter immediately broke away. He brushed Kaili's face and lips gently with his finger. The kiss lasted only a minute, not long. But managed to make Stella and Richard speechless.

"As you can see, it seems that she will be pregnant with my child soon. Are you seriously still thinking about our divorce?" Dexter smirked.

Kaili had just come back from her shock after being kissed by Dexter's just now, and upon hearing about 'carrying my child', her cheeks blushed. This was such a shame, why Dexter did the nonsense? Was he trying to defend her? Did that mean…. Dexter's like her back? Can Kaili hope?

However, while thinking that, Dexter, who was still lowering his head near Kaili, whispered to her, "Don't think too far! You know exactly why I married you!" then he left.
