2Yeon: Perception

In this AU fic, Yoo Jeongyeon actually likes Im Nayeon in a romantic way but is unsure of how to act on these feelings for her. Hidden in subtle gestures, rare moments, and a lot of teasing and bullying, Jeongyeon tries to survive being in love with her unnie and at the same time hide what she thinks would be her unrequited feelings. Oh and there is also the million dollar (or won) question: what does Nayeon feel about her? The title is a variation of the English translation of the Filipino word "Pagtingin". It is a famous song by the group Ben&Ben. You can listen to it or read the lyrics to understand the meaning of the song. It is such a bop but at the same time can be relatable, especially for those who have fallen in love with a friend. The theme of the story, however, is based on the song "Out of My League" by Fitz and the Tantrums. The title already says it all, don't you think?

Operation: Win Nayeon's Heart - Day 3 of 7

Jeongyeon wasn't going to lie, she didn't feel too good after what had transpired the other day. The rest of that afternoon was spent strolling around the park with Nayeon, talking about a lot of things and pretending she wasn't affected by what the older girl had said to her during lunch. Nayeon gave her a peck on the cheek and a long hug when she walked Jeongyeon home but even Nayeon's affection wasn't able to light up her mood.

She remembered avoiding her family and staying in her room when she was called for dinner, feigning fullness and not having an appetite. Her family sensed she wanted to be alone and didn't bother her for the rest of the night. Jihyo and Chaeyoung had called before she went to sleep to ask for updates but the girls immediately knew something was wrong so they avoided prying about it for now.

Jeongyeon was grateful for their understanding. She can tell them about what happened in another time but for now, she just wanted to wallow in her misery.

The morning of the third day was as gloomy as her mood. It was a wonder how everything was so shiny and bright yesterday but it seemed like it was going to rain today. Jeongyeon woke up alone at nine, her family long gone.

Groggily, she looked out the window to see dark grey clouds looming over her hometown with the occasional flashes of lightning followed by a rumbling thunder. The rain hasn't fallen yet but she gives it half an hour before it starts pouring heavily. Grabbing her phone from the nightstand, she saw the weather prediction say there was a thunderstorm coming. Frowning, she sat up on the bed and decided to call Nayeon. She had the feeling the stubborn bunny would insist to come over despite the bad weather. The older girl picked up after the fifth ring.

"Good morning, Jeongie!" a chirpy voice greeted. "Sorry I'm a little late but don't worry, I'm on my way there."

"Unnie... there might be a storm coming. You should've just stayed at home."

"Are you kidding me? I don't want to be alone if there's a storm. Besides, I already told your appa I'm coming over to babysit their beloved maknae."

"Aish, fine but would you hurry up? It'll rain soon and I don't want you driving when it pours." Jeongyeon felt conflicted. On one hand, she wanted to be alone for the day so she could try and get over what happened yesterday. At the same time, she couldn't resist Nayeon even if she wanted to. Despite how hurt she was over recent events, she knew it wasn't Nayeon's fault. That and her worry over Nayeon would always take precedence over her own personal troubles.

"Ne, eomma. See ya!"

Jeongyeon ended the call, sighing in frustration. She decided to take a quick bath- it takes her the usual fifteen minutes to bathe now since she was given the clear to remove her neck brace when showering- and made her way to her living room to wait for Nayeon. She passed by the kitchen and saw a note stuck to the table. It said that their pets have already been fed and there was food in the fridge she can reheat. She figured she'd wait for her unnie to arrive before eating breakfast. Just like she guessed, it didn't take long before the rain started to fall from the heavens, gradually becoming heavier.

Her anxiety over Nayeon's situation and whereabouts grew with every passing second. She wonders if she got caught in traffic or if she couldn't see through the rain clouding her view of the windshield and got lost along the way. What if she got arrested for not wearing a seat belt? What if she got into an accident? What if her car broke down in the middle of the street? All kinds of negative thoughts and worst case scenarios she could think of began to plague her mind, each one becoming more ridiculous than the other (at some point, she considered the possibility that Nayeon may have been run over by a pirate ship when she fell off a cliff and into the ocean because she was trying to escape a mob of angry commuters for colliding with their bus).

She ended up pacing back and forth in her living room.

She contemplated calling Nayeon again when she heard the telltale sound of a car engine reverberating outside. She rushed to the door, grabbing an umbrella from its stand beside the door, and went out. Nayeon was already out her car with Kookeu- who was wrapped in a towel- in her arms when Jeongyeon opened the door and the younger girl hurried to her side to bring the umbrella over her head. It was a futile effort, however, as Nayeon was already soaked when they entered the house.

"What took you so long?" Jeongyeon asked, handing Nayeon a towel to dry herself off. Kookeu was barely wet thanks to the towel protecting him from the rain and leaving his owner looking like she swam in the beach with her clothes on. Jeongyeon tried her best not to stare, forcing herself to look only at Nayeon's eyes. Her unnie's formerly white, crisp button-up shirt was now transparent and clung to her like a second skin. The outline of her black, strapless bra can be clearly seen through the material of the shirt.

Nayeon ignored her and began to wipe her whole body. She couldn't do anything about her clothes, though, and groaned in a defeated manner. "This isn't working. I need to take a shower and I'm borrowing your clothes." Without waiting for Jeongyeon to answer, she began to unbutton her shirt.

Predictably, Jeongyeon turned bright red in a matter of nanoseconds and she turned around sputtering aghast, "U-Unnie!"

Nayeon scoffed, wrapping the towel around her naked body. "What? It's nothing you haven't seen before."

Sadly, this was true. All the members had seen each other's bodies one way or another. Although she had no problem seeing her other members' naked bodies, it should be obvious why it was different when it came to Nayeon. And while she appreciated the view, she didn't want to stare too long. Nayeon's curves, sexy back, toned abdomen, creamy legs, rounded backside, and perky breasts from the last time she saw her naked was still fresh in her mind. Okay, that was way too many adjectives, she thought, horrified at herself. "S-Still! Have some dignity, will you?"

Jeongyeon yelped in pain when Nayeon passed by and couldn't resist slapping her butt, giggling coquettishly rounding to the hallway on her way to the bathroom. She was left with a discarded pile of Nayeon's drenched clothes, creating a puddle of water on the floor. She bent down to pick them up and whimpered at the sight of Nayeon's bra along with her matching black, skimpy lace underwear. Jeongyeon suddenly felt light-headed with the thought of seeing Nayeon in these. Gingerly, she picked up the racy lingerie and stretched out her hand to hold it away from her.

She walked towards the laundry room, the pile of clothes in one arm soiling her shirt and her other outstretched hand holding her black thong from the band like it was a ticking time bomb.

...

After Jeongyeon had hung Nayeon's clothes in the laundry room as well as her own soiled shirt, she made her way to her room to change. Expecting Nayeon to take a while in the bathroom, she had no problem parading around her house with only a bra to cover her upper body. Once in her room, she went straight to her dresser to grab a new shirt for her to wear. She had just pulled out a large sized purple shirt with the hem reaching below her rear- that was given to her by the brand they endorsed one time- when it was snatched from her fingers.

"Ya!" she protested, turning around to complain only for her jaw to drop at the sight in front of her.

Nayeon had just come back from the shower so it would be safe to assume she only had a towel to cover her body. Her messy hair was still damp, some beads of water ran down her forehead and cheeks. She wore a naughty smirk on her face at seeing Jeongyeon's reaction. The younger girl couldn't help but think she never looked as sexy as she did now.

With one hand holding the towel to her chest and the other dangling the t-shirt daintily to her side, Nayeon bit her lip and asked, "Like the view, Jeongie?"

Jeongyeon felt her throat dry up and tried to answer but all that came out was a squeak. The situation wasn't lost on her at all. This was not how she imagined having a naked Nayeon in her room. Add that to the fact that she was also not fully dressed. Indecent thoughts about the current situation came to her mind. There was a burning in her loins she wanted to quell with Nayeon's help. Her fingers itched to just remove the towel and see Nayeon in all her naked glory. She wanted to lunge at her and place kisses on every inch of porcelain skin she can find. Her eyes were trained on a spot on Nayeon's neck- right under her chin where her pulse was- and felt the urge to mark her there for the world to see.

Shaking her head to get rid of those thoughts, she finally stammered, "G-Give me my shirt back!"

She reached for the shirt but the other girl pulled her arm back so she couldn't grab it. Nayeon sneered. "Just get another shirt, I like this one."

Jeongyeon groaned. "Why are you being so difficult?" She tried to grab the shirt again but Nayeon stepped back to keep the shirt out of her reach.

"You're the one who's being difficult. You have a lot of clothes, why is it so hard to pick another one?"

Jeongyeon continued to reach forward and take the shirt from Nayeon while the older girl practically walked backwards to avoid Jeongyeon's grabby hands. Nayeon had the audacity to giggle while they were squabbling for the shirt and Jeongyeon immediately realized she was being provoked. The worst thing was: it was working. Nayeon is really an expert when it comes to teasing and/or triggering her. She could feel a vein throbbing on her temple as she lunged at Nayeon in a final attempt to seize her shirt from Nayeon's grasp.

Nayeon shrieked in surprise and she slipped, falling backwards. On instinct, she grabbed Jeongyeon's arms to steady herself- she almost wrapped her arms around Jeongyeon's injured neck but went for the arms at the last second- and the other grabbed her hips to support her, pulling Nayeon closer to her in the process. Without Nayeon's hand to hold up the towel, it slipped a little to reveal more of her cleavage before getting caught between her nipples and Jeongyeon's chest. Poor Jeongyeon caught a little glimpse of her nubs and had to avert her eyes to meet Nayeon's, her face turning the brightest shade of red.

She wasn't sure if she was imagining it but she saw Nayeon's eyes glance downwards towards her lips before looking back at her eyes. Flustered at their closeness and at her state of undress, Nayeon sported a blush as well. "C-Close your eyes," she instructed with a stutter. "And keep them closed or I'll hit you. I'm keeping the shirt."

Jeongyeon did so, partly in fear of being hit but also because she didn't want to seem like a pervert. When Nayeon was satisfied at seeing her eyes closed, she took a step back. Jeongyeon felt relieved and a little disappointed at the loss of contact. She would never admit it but she liked Nayeon's body pressed up to hers. It was fortunate they didn't stay in each other's embrace though as even thinking about it made her hot all over.

"Just hurry up, will you?" she said through gritted teeth.

She stiffened when she felt Nayeon's towel dropped to the floor, lightly grazing against her toes. She clenched her fists tightly and looked up the ceiling without opening her eyes, fighting the urge to take a peak with every single cell in her body. After a few seconds, she could hear Nayeon shuffling about and assumed she'd already worn the shirt but she wasn't going to open her eyes unless Nayeon tells her to.

Two minutes later, she feels Nayeon behind her. She feels her breath near her ear, sending a shiver down her spine. She could feel Nayeon's heat radiating from her body with how close they were. "You can open your eyes now," Nayeon whispered delicately into her ear.

Jeongyeon exhaled, not knowing when she'd held her breath. She opened her eyes and saw Nayeon smirk from the corner of her eye. She had worn the shirt, the hem ending just a little above the middle of her thighs.

"Just so you know, I'm wearing nothing underneath," Nayeon uttered then bent down to pick up her discarded towel.

If anyone else could see Jeongyeon right now, she could be mistaken as a tomato with how red she is. She couldn't help the choked sound- and a little cough right after- that came from her lips when she said that. Stepping away from Nayeon, she quickly turned to her dresser and pulled out some underwear and shorts. She threw the undergarments to Nayeon's direction where they landed on her face and there was a resounding "Ya!"

She grabbed a sweater for herself, donning it before making her way towards her door. "Meet me in the kitchen when you're done, you can join me for breakfast if you like." She disappeared in the next second, leaving a laughing Nayeon in her wake.

...

Jeongyeon currently found herself cuddling with Nayeon in the living room. She was slightly reclined on the arm of the couch, a pillow supporting her head. Nayeon almost lay over her, pressed to her side. The latter had her head on Jeongyeon's chest, their legs lay over each other. They were watching the television but neither were focused on the morning drama that was playing. Nayeon was on her phone and Jeongyeon was staring blankly at the screen, replaying the recent events that happened even before breakfast.

She knew there was a certain tension between her and Nayeon earlier. She just wasn't sure what it meant for them. Should she do something about it? Should she confront Nayeon? She knows she can but every time she tries to bring it up, her throat becomes choked up like her body was protesting against it and she chickens out. She's been silent for more than an hour but thankfully, Nayeon hasn't noticed.

"You've been quiet for a while, is something wrong?" The aforementioned bunny asked, turning away from her phone for a second.

I spoke too soon, Jeongyeon sighed internally and shook her head. "I'm fine, just bored out of my mind."

Technically, she wasn't lying. The rain had persisted for the past few hours though it had gradually lessened into a drizzle so they were unable the spend the day outside like yesterday. She'd already finished her Lego puzzle set last night to take her mind off of Nayeon and her crush who was lucky enough to be noticed by Nayeon but dumb enough to not reciprocate her feelings. Her blood begins to boil just by the thought of the mystery woman.

Nayeon hummed in agreement. "It's a shame it rained today, I was planning for us to spend the day at the mall or something."

"If the weather improves tomorrow then we can still go."

Shaking her head, Nayeon pouted. "We're going to have to cancel that, I have something else planned for tomorrow."

Jeongyeon chuckled, pinching her cheeks. "Arasseo. Now stop pouting, you big baby." The older girl looked up at her, smiling softly. "What's that smile for? Is there something on my face?"

Nayeon shook her head. "You look fine. It's just..." There was a little hesitation here. Nayeon lifted herself up and placed an arm under her to support her weight. Her head hovered over Jeongyeon's, her silky hair flowing down the side of her face, the ends tickling Jeongyeon's cheek. Taupe brown eyes looked straight into her own, pulling her into their depths of their gaze. There was conflict in those eyes, as if there was something they wanted to convey but thought better to leave it unsaid. Enthralled, Jeongyeon found she couldn't look away.

Her expression turned solemn though her smile never faded as she looked down at Jeongyeon. "I like us like this, you know. No fighting, teasing, or bickering, no schedules to wake up early for, no choreography to memorize in a day, no media to avoid, no stalkers to look out for... don't get me wrong, we practically trained for this for years but sometimes I wonder what it's like to not be famous."

Jeongyeon tucked a fallen strand of hair behind Nayeon's ear and sighed. "Don't worry, we've all been there, we get tired at times too. We were always so busy after we debuted, no one would blame you if you decide to take a break. We'll wait for you like you waited for me and Mina."

Nayeon shook her head with a smile and laid back on Jeongyeon's chest. "Glad to hear that," she squeezed Jeongyeon's waist. "You've gained weight," she stated in an off-handed manner like she was just talking about the weather.

The younger girl frowned. "You've noticed it too, huh." Ever since she got injured and couldn't do any strenuous physical activity, Jeongyeon wasn't able to maintain her weight. She'd also been stress eating a lot while she was on a break and without exercise, it would make sense she would add a few pounds. "I look fat now, don't I?" she asked in a small voice.

Nayeon shot up from her position and regarded Jeongyeon with a guilty look at hearing her saddened tone. "Ani! You look fine. I like you chubby too, just so you know. Don't put words in my mouth, Jeongyeon. You know I'd never say anything to hurt you on purpose," she reasoned and with both hands, pinched Jeongyeon's cheeks.

Grunting, Jeongyeon slapped her hands away from her face. "Who gave you permission to pinch my cheeks?"

"Why would I need permission? You're mine to touch whenever I want, Yoo Jeongyeon."

Taking it as innuendo, Jeongyeon flushed. "W-What did you say?"

"I said-" Nayeon paused. Once the meaning of her words dawned on her, she turned red too. "N-Nothing. Forget I said anything! Aish, why are you so dirty-minded?"

"You're blaming me for taking it out of context when you were the one who said it!" Jeongyeon sat up, pinching Nayeon's nose.

"Ya! Apa!"

...

Wiping her damp hands on a towel, Jeongyeon turned around to the living room to see Nayeon still enjoying her nap. Their oldest baby was curled up on the couch, under the duvet Jeongyeon obtained from her mother's closet. Her mouth looked like it was hung open due to her oversized bunny teeth but Jeongyeon found her adorable nonetheless. Her cheeks were puffier than usual due to being pressed up against the cushion where she lay her head. A little drool was dripping down the side of her cheek, slightly drenching the cushion and Jeongyeon couldn't help but snicker at the sight.

"Kyeopta," she murmured. She took out her phone and snapped a few pictures. This would do well as blackmail material, she thought with an evil smile.

"Set it as your wallpaper," a voice came from the couch and she was so startled, she jumped and almost dropped her phone. She looked to see Nayeon propped up on her elbow, smirking. Her hair was disheveled, her eyes half shut and fighting to stay open, and Jeongyeon noticed there was a streak of drool on her cheek and held in a laugh. "Do I look that pretty for you to take pictures of me?" The younger girl just snapped another picture of her and Nayeon even posed for it with the back of her hand under her chin.

"Yeah, so pretty. You don't mind if I share this to the group chat, right?" Jeongyeon was already in their group chat, uploading the picture for their members to see.

"Help yourself. Go forth and bless everyone's day with Im Nayeon's beauty, my child."

Not able to hold back her laughter, Jeongyeon's shoulders shook as she sent a picture in their group chat. A bell sound came from Nayeon's phone on the coffee table in front of the couch and the latter checked to see her notifications. She tapped on the notification that Jeongyeon sent something to their group chat and was appalled at what she saw.

Slowly raising her head to look at the laughing Jeongyeon, Nayeon said with a straight face, "You're dead."

Jeongyeon stuck her tongue out. "You can't do anything to me, unnie. I'm still hurt. You lay one long ass finger on me and I'm ratting you out."

Nayeon nodded slowly. "True, I can't hurt you now but that injury of yours won't last for long." She held up a hand, wiggling her spread out fingers. "I'll wait for your recovery and the second we're given the clear that you're fully recovered, you can't escape from this hand."

"I'd like to see you try, unnie," Jeongyeon mocked her.

Nayeon was gearing for another bickering session but both their phones suddenly started ringing. When they checked to see what it was, they found Jihyo starting a video call in their group chat. Instantly forgetting the fact that they were only annoying each other just a few seconds ago, Jeongyeon situated herself beside Nayeon while the latter answered the call from her phone.

"Annyeong, yeorobun!" a bubbly Jihyo greeted. Dahyun and Sana were already present with her in the call. Tzuyu joined a few seconds after Jeongyeon and Nayeon entered. Momo was the last one to join and she was sucking on her slightly sticky fingers.

"What the hell, Momo? Did you really have to do that in front of us?" Nayeon complained, frowning.

Momo shrugged, unbothered. "It's delicious, I can't help it."

"What are you eating anyway?"

"Kaa-san made onigiri."

Jeongyeon interjected, "Okay, before I start to become hungry again... where is our resident couple?"

"Having a lover's quarrel, maybe. Last I heard from Chaeyoung, Mina-unnie had been ignoring her the whole morning because unnie was playing on her phone and wouldn't answer her text or calls," Tzuyu said.

Just then, Mina entered the call, looking quite frazzled. "Guys?"

"Hey, Mina-chan. We were just talking about you," Sana greeted.

"Can any of you get a hold of Chaeyoung? She won't respond to my texts and calls."

"She's probably sulking," Dahyun said. "Just give her some time, unnie. Once she's calmed down, you can call her again. I would call her for you but you know how she is when she gets all grumpy."

Mina sighed. "Arasseo. Gomawo, Dahyun-ah. Sorry for troubling you all."

"Ani, gwaenchanha, Mina-yah," Sana reassured her. "Make up with your girl, okay? I don't like that the two of you are fighting. I could scold you for ignoring Chaeyoung but now's not the time."

Mina nodded then disappeared off the screen as she exited the call. The group decided to avoid talking about the two and move on to another subject, which was how everyone was doing. Unsurprisingly, Jihyo spends most of her mornings in the gym; Dahyun was starting to learn how to play the guitar; Tzuyu was spending time with her family- which, of course, included her beloved dog Gucci- and occasionally practicing playing her guzheng; Momo recently went on a shopping spree- mostly buying stuff for Boo- and dancing a lot with her older sister Hana; and Sana was pulling a Mina- which meant staying at home and watching movies or dramas all day.

Jihyo had a teasing smirk on her face the whole time Nayeon and Jeongyeon narrated what they have done for the past two days. She was quite confident her members wouldn't pick up on that and so she was openly teasing them. Momo was also paying a suspicious amount of attention towards them but she was more subtle about her reactions and tried to keep a straight face throughout their narrative.

Unfortunately for Jihyo, Tzuyu was eyeing them dubiously while her two eldest unnies were talking. The maknae had grown more perceptive towards her unnies the past weeks ever since she noticed Chaeyoung's strange reaction to them. She found out Jihyo and Momo also knew about whatever secret they were hiding.

She's come up with some theories but she was certain on one: that Jeongyeon could be in love with Nayeon and was in the process of courting her. Learning about it wasn't surprising but it definitely gave her some sort of newfound awareness regarding Jeongyeon's recent behavior towards Nayeon. She hadn't told anyone yet that she'd figured them out and was thinking of confronting one of them when the opportunity presents itself. For now, she was content seeing her members- especially Chaeyoung- squirm and panic whenever she asks them about it.

It was interesting hearing Nayeon and Jeongyeon talking about how their week was going so far with Jihyo's reactions. It would mean her assumptions could be factual and she found herself to be more invested in this than when she was hiding Mina and Chaeyoung's relationship from the group. NaJeong might be my new favorite ship now, she thought.

...

It was now nine in the evening and the rain had not relented throughout the course of the day. It had gotten worse in the afternoon and some streets were now flooded with ankle high water. Their group call had ended a few hours ago and Jeongyeon regretted suggesting to end the call in favor of resting. She is currently on the couch, her mother's duvet around her shoulders and biting her nails with worry as she watched the news. Her family wasn't around yet and she was beginning to worry.

There were scattered thunderstorms in the middle of Gyeonggi with the strongest rainfall situated above Seoul, Incheon, and Seongnam while other areas like Ansan, Suwon, and Yongin are only experiencing heavy rainfall. Unfortunately, the wind was moving from the northwest of Incheon, going down 20km an hour southeast so the thunderstorms should also be expected in Suwon at around 10PM. The storm would then continue east until it completely exits the country from the northeastern part of Gyeongbuk by 4AM the next day.

It was already raining pretty hard in her place, she could only imagine how the thunderstorms could affect the areas where her family and the other members- Jihyo, Chaeyoung, and Dahyun- are staying. To cope, she'd followed Nayeon's example as the older girl was somewhere around the house, calling her family and texted their members. She'd called her parents a few minutes ago to ask for their whereabouts and they said they couldn't make it home for the night.

"We'll all be staying in a hotel nearby until the rain stops," her mother said.

"How about Seungyeon-unnie?" Jeongyeon asked in a small voice.

"She's here with us. She came by the restaurant around lunch time. She was about to go home but because of the rain, the traffic here was so bad she decided to stay."

"Please stay safe, eomma."

"We will, Jeongyeon. Don't worry about us. Take care of yourself and Nayeon there, arasseo? We'll be back by morning, I promise."

"Ne, eomma. Saranghae."

Despite her mother's assurance, Jeongyeon can't help but still worry over her family. Suddenly, a hand grabbed her wrist to remove her fingers from her mouth. "Stop that, you biting your nails won't help your family right now."

Jeongyeon weakly pulled away from Nayeon's grip, eyeing the girl with a small, sad smile. "I just can't help but worry."

She felt the couch dip beside her and part of the duvet being lifted. A pair of arms wrapped around her waist to embrace her. She brought both ends of the duvet to envelop both of them in its warmth and Jeongyeon felt calm in an instant.

"I'm worried too. But we can't do anything but trust and pray they'll be safe. They can take care of themselves, Jeong. Don't worry anymore, arasseo?" Jeongyeon hummed in accord. "Now, come on. It's getting late and I want to take a bath. By the way, where will I sleep?"

"Just take one of my unnies' rooms, you know they won't mind. You can take Kookeu with you, too."

...

They both had settled in for the night. Nayeon decided to stay in Seungyeon's room- simply because she liked the eldest Yoo's sky blue walls more than Seoyeon's yellow ones- taking Kookeu with her. They bid each other good night in the hallway, Nayeon giving Jeongyeon a peck on the cheek for lending her pajamas- a blue and white striped ensemble that Jeongyeon had once worn on a VLive with Nanan. Jeongyeon waited for Nayeon to be tucked in safely in her bed before she went to her own room and plopped down on the bed, hoping to sleep early. She had her pets with her in the room as the dogs were scared of the thunder. Bomb's, Nanan's, and Tan's beds all were situated on one side of the room and they were already sleeping.

Another hour had passed with Jeongyeon twisting and turning in her bed, not being able to sleep due to the thunder and lightning show happening outside her window. She wasn't exactly scared of the storm, she was more worried about her family and member's conditions. She debated calling her family again but decided against it as they were probably already resting and she didn't want to bother them. She placed a pillow on her headboard and sat up, thinking of what to do to pass the time.

As if her thoughts were heard, there was a knock on her door and she knew immediately who it was (it'd be pretty stupid to assume it was someone else given that there were only two people in the house at the moment). She grinned and called out, "It's open, unnie."

The door opened slowly to reveal a rather scared Nayeon hugging Kookeu to her chest.

"You got scared?" Jeongyeon asked though she already knew the answer. It'd make sense Nayeon would be frightened of thunderstorms, all of them except Mina was never fond of it especially when lightning followed right after the loud rumbles. She was scared of them too from time to time, she just doesn't make it obvious since she was usually comforting her members whenever they couldn't sleep because of the thunder.

Nayeon nodded, looking like a kid coming to ask her parents if she could sleep with them after waking up to a nightmare. She stepped into the room, her scared, begging eyes looking straight at Jeongyeon. "Can we sleep with you?"

"You didn't need to ask, unnie. Come here."

Smiling, Nayeon set Kookeu at the end of the bed and dived into Jeongyeon's outstretched arms. She nuzzled her head on the latter's chest, sighing. "Gomawo."

Jeongyeon adjusted herself, moving to the other side of the bed to make room for Nayeon. The latter hadn't let go of her yet and was whining about it. "Don't move, you're so comfortable."

"It'll be easier to cuddle when you're under the covers, you know."

Nayeon pouted but brought a hand to lift the blanket to cover both of them. She snuggled into the blanket then turned to look at Jeongyeon with expectant eyes. "There, now can you let me cuddle you?"

Jeongyeon giggled at her childish antics. "Alright, you big baby. You can stop pouting now." She lay on her back with Nayeon's head over her heart, calmly listening to her heartbeat. She wrapped her arms around Nayeon and brought her closer to her body, kissing the crown of her head. "Good night, unnie."

The latter hummed and echoed the sentiment in a small voice before drifting off to sleep. With Nayeon in the room, Jeongyeon suddenly felt sleepy. Her worries had gone away the instant Nayeon appeared on her doorstep and she found it within her to believe everything will be fine. She yawned and kissed Nayeon's head one more time before following her in the land of nod. There was a smile on her face as she dozed off, feeling lucky she gets to wake up the next morning with the love of her life in her arms.

The day wasn't what she expected, especially with the events that happened yesterday but she was happy and content, simply because she was with Nayeon.
