ARandomMob
This chapter really almost forced me to stop reading this fic. You have to be a really dumb idiot to make such promises. Not to mention the arrogant behavior of this old dragon. All respect for this decrepit old man has disappeared.
I don't really care about his motives. I am an ordinary reader who empathizes with the main character. And as a reader, it is very unpleasant for me to watch how the main character, a twelve-year-old boy, was forced (!) to take an oath limiting his freedom of will, taking advantage of his guilt. Perhaps this will not play any role in fan fiction, but I am sure that in reality this oath, as for evil, would play a bad joke with the main character.
ARandomMob:To be honest, there is a lot of lore hidden behind everything in Genshin. Some of them could make your country disappear, as it canonically happened in the past. And he is probably one of the most knowledgeable people in the Teyvat, he knows more than anyone else. He has his reasons.
