This comment is Copied over from FimFiction in order to explain the Rope, since I know some people don't like super Cartoony things in their children's cartoon: The way I wrote it here, I tried to make it so the Lasso was nothing more than a very long rope that the gang could use to walk to the moon, seeing as the moon was already lowering itself thanks to Nightmare Moon's magic. For example, Celestia couldn't Visit Luna on the moon because she was still Nightmare Moon and Celly couldn't use the Elements of Harmony by herself. As for why Nightmare Moon couldn't simply fly down to Equestria? She was banished to the moon by the Elements, with emphasis on Banished, The Magic of the Elements made sure that she would remain on the moon for one-thousand years, without that she easily could have escaped back to Equestria. Because that's precisely what she did in the first episode. The moment the Elements of Harmony's banishment was done, She immediately flew to Equestria, defeated Celestia, and threatened eternal night once again. Also, you got to remember that MLP is a magical world, with weapons that shoot beams of concentrated friendship, shapeshifting bug-horses, an evil Spanish king who's secretly a ghost-insect-horse, Indiana Jane fights a creature from Aztec myth on a monthly basis, The Dog people are Celtic and the Yak people are Vikings. And that's not even getting started on Discord or Tirek or Starswirl or whoever else. The World is a children's fantasy storybook, with magical princesses and talking dragons and friendship and everything. A very long lasso that can pull the moon isn't even in the top 10 weirdest things. So why not enjoy the more fantastical elements of this fantasy world? If I tried writing this story to be as serious and Non-Fantasy as I could, I would make this an Equestria Girls fic instead. This is a magical world, I've written enough about the more realistic aspects in previous arcs with the Gala and the Art Museum, Let's enjoy the magical aspects of the world just as much.
