Thus is definitely the best symbiote novel i’ve read, keep ut the good work. I’ve been meaning to ask, what gender is El closer to? Since you wrote something about the symbiote becoming more like the host as the bond deepens. So if El ever makes a external body, will it be a female(but with the ability to change certain bits)?
Thanks for the feedback. Glad you're enjoying it, and I appreciate the kind words. Yeah you're spot on with your assumption. El will always be genderless on a biological level, but their personality and behaviour will be heavily influenced by Mara. Since El understands human DNA, they will have free reign to customise the body as they want - provided they know enough about it. Since the DNA El knows best will always be Mara, there'll be an unconscious bias towards her appearance, meaning that the 'base' of the form would be female. Keeping it open like this gives me the ability to spice things up and allows me to be flexible in my writing in the future, so I apologise that it's not a definitive answer for now.
