I found it pointless, Luffy didn't need to kill, instead of simply saying that by killing he will awaken haki, you could have given him a purpose. it would be much more interesting
The whole idea that the Mc needs to kill to use armament haki is 100% false because luffy never killed anyone in the anime/manga but can use armament haki so what that said to the Mc made no sense.
