I think the author is trying to bring Azariah to his breaking point and then he’s mostly likely going to build him back up from scratch. Whether that means he becomes overpowered or he stops being selfless completely and then completely focus on himself which would most likely cause him to focus on killing his mother.

and again the mc will loose here. and get framed for creating unwanted trouble, he is becoming more and more pathetic.
