This makes absolutely no sense. First, who would dare to attack a disciple so close to their sect? This is simply irrational, as the sect would likely have some sort of force patrolling its territory to prevent spies, invasions, attacks, or the like. Second, how would a criminal cultivator, who had probably survived several deadly battles, give up any kind of advantage to talk to his target? This is simply stupid and would not happen because an experienced cultivator and combatant would continue with a chain of attacks without giving their target time to react, instead wasting precious seconds on dialogue, which would disrupt their focus on combat.
